5-0 out of 5 stars The Official SAT study Guide
Any student preparing to take the SAT should not go with out this book. The Book provides accurate practice test created by the Test makers (ETS). But don't count on this book to give you excellent review. Review for the SAT is very brief. also this book is no good without the solutions manual which you could buy on amazon. so without the soulutions manual you won't be doing anything but just taking the practice test and not knowing where you went wrong. anyways good luck!

4-0 out of 5 stars A must-have for your SAT prep; but no accurate diagnostic tools
Official materials are always the most important for the SAT, and this is currently the only source available for authentic SAT questions. The questions and essay topics contained in this book give a nice overview of what an SAT-taker will see on test day, so it would be wise to complete and review as many questions as you can in this book.
5-0 out of 5 stars WOW

5-0 out of 5 stars I feel it worth buying
Well,I'm a foreign student preparing for the SAT test. In front of so many choices of SAT books I got my impression from the pretty girl on the cover. And after buying it I found this book worth my attention, too. Not only was it full of knowledge and skills, but also the humourous words I read made it easier for me to take SAT practice. I think you will not regret purchasing it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for students scared of the SAT

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, but.......
This book is fantastic; however, I got confused about the book page number. The description says it has 944 pages, but it just has 924. And I don't like the last PSAT part. I think this book should only contain SAT practice tests only. And it wastes a lot of marginal room. This edition doesn't changed a little, if any. Princeton Review should improve a little when release a new edition, not just change the cover. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Law Enforcement Exam
I ordered this book to brush up on some basic math that I haven't used in many years. I got it in order to do better on my law enforcement exam. This book covered everything that I needed. It was just right! It walks through the basics and works one up to more complex problems. It includes clear explanations on how to solve the problem and then provides a practice test for each area covered. It even offers some tricks to keep in mind when encountering certain problems. Perfect for a refresher!

2-0 out of 5 stars Very Low level book
I bought this with hope to get my brain used to solving complicated problems quickly. However, the quality of excercises in this book is very very low. I could have made up any of the excercises in the book. Unsatisfied, I returned it in 2 days. Do not buy it if you are very good or even avarage at math. This will not help you.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good
i took the sat ii math level 2.i really didnt study too hard until like 2 weeks before the test.i only used this book and i still managed to crack 700.this book covers more info than that is actually on the test.the strategies that it gives are very helpful and if you just read through and do the examples, i am pretty sure that you could crack 700.i was only a sophomore when i took the test and i didnt even take calculus yet, so i must say, this book was sooo helpful!

4-0 out of 5 stars A good review book.
Well, I just got back my Math 1 score from the June administration of the SAT Subject tests.I got a 730, which I think is a result of using this great book.It is a little unorganized, but everything you need is there if you'll read the entire book.Unlike other Princeton review books that cover two levels of tests (like the AP Calc AB & BC book), this one actually divides well between Level 1 and Level 2 materials.Overall, it had a great review of the material, with explanations of how to do the practice problems and not just the answers. The practice tests were more difficult than the actual exam.I got a 650 on one and a 660 on the second one, despite the fact I got a 730 on the real SAT test. It's much better than the Sparknotes Math 1 book, which I also used to review.I basically got 800s on their tests because you could recognize how to do all the problems from practice problems in the book. One test didn't vary much from the next. But that's not the case with the Princeton Review book, because you cannot really recognize the problems as familiar. It's overall a great book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good
The book is pretty good, the test are harder than the actual. That is actually good for practice. Using this book will increase your scores.

4-0 out of 5 stars Vocab List VERY HELPFuL
It has a very extensive vocabulary list with almost every SAT word possible! (I would say about 99% of all words are listed). They also provide sentences with word which helps tremendously in understanding the word in context. I would highly recommend this book if you need to improve your vocabulary.

4-0 out of 5 stars Vocab
This book's "high frequency" and "probably"
3-0 out of 5 stars My Previous Review was for the 22nd edition, not this one
Although most of the glaring errors found in the previous edition (Barron's How to Prepare for the New SAT) have been rectified, this book is only marginally recommendable.

I bought this book thinking i would get some good practice..instead when i opened it i thought some questions looked familiar...so i took out the 2006 version of this book and compared the two.....BOTH ARE EXACTLY THE SAME...ALL 12 TEST..ALL THE QUESTIONS...THE ORDER...THE ESSAY...i was supremely angry....So if you have the 2006 version of this book then definitely dont purchase this book....

3-0 out of 5 stars Very good in some aspects but yet very bad in others
First off, this book offers one of the most wide ranged practice tests available for the SAT. This extensive amount of practice allows for a user to sufficiently prepare for the SAT; however, what makes this book so bad is that most of the tests that are given are hold KAPLAN tests. If u have bought 2005 or 2006 SAT Books from KAPLAN ud find the exact same problems and tests. Although most of the tests are the ame, the overall review for english and math is by far one of the best out there next to Princeton Review and Barrons. I recommend this book if u have never purchased a KAPLAN SAT book before or just 1, but if you have purchased a recent SAT book by KAPLAN i would ABSOLUTELY not recommend this book unless you want some of the same practice tests ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great tool
I am an AVID teacher and am preparing my students for the SAT.After I started using this book my students now think that learning Vocab is fun! When have you ever heard a high school student say that vocab is fun?I highly recommend this book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Practically Painless Learning
I found this slightly unorthodox way of learning vocabulary words to be entertaining and practically painless. My children (8th and 5th graders)and their Gifted and Talented Program teachers have been enthusiastic about using the book. I especially appreciate the author's humorous treatment of this compilation of words likely to be tested, and the fact that he has updated the book periodically to keep pace with changes in the SAT. I would recommend it for any student-in school or not- interested in expanding his or her vocabulary.

I ordered the book expecting a review from the people that actually made the test. It's basically just a few practice questions and then the two tests for each level. It's a very thin book and most of it is the tests. It might be a good book for some people just for exam questions but other than that it's not really a review. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars An excellent book to learn physics, not for the SAT II
This book is an excellent source to learn about almost every aspect of physics. It touches base on things that are not taught in the high school curriculum. I took a year of regents physics and am taking IB physics this year and the book helped a lot. However, the practice problems and in depth information in this book is NOT ON THE PHYSICS SAT II.I took the test a few months ago and the test is nothing compared to the book.Yes it will overprepare you for the test, but if you don't have time to read and study all of those pages, theres no reason to.I'm sure there are other books out that will teach you all you need to know.Again, excellent book, but for the person who just wants to ace the test and nothing more, its a waste of time and energy trying to understand it all.It is not an easy read for an average student. I got a 780 on the test and most of the questions are all on concepts, maybe about 8 percent of the test had actual math problems where you had to work stuff out, and you really don't need to know that many formulas. All in all its a great book to impress your physics teacher and grasp many concepts but not the best for the test.

4-0 out of 5 stars While not flawless, an excellent book to use
I started reviewing with this book for the SAT Physics Subject Test only three days before I had to take it. While I had taken one year of regular physics in school, we never had to memorize the equations for our tests. This book did an excellent job of condensing all the information needed, and its explanations were clear and concise. The review problems were challenging but ensured a thorough understanding of the concepts, and the provided solutions to the practice tests were easy to understand.
4-0 out of 5 stars Very good review
This book presents an excellent review, the only issue is that it shoudl have had more practice tests. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars SAT-tutor approved!
I've been tutoring SAT students in Manhattan, Connecticut, and New Jersey for ten years now, and I've never seen any other resource or material like this book/CD. It's really a whole new way to approach studying vocab - one of the most dreaded and most necessary parts of preparing for the test - that I think students will really go for. The songs are terrific! I just got my hands on this book (after a friend recommended it) and can't wait to use it with my students this fall.

5-0 out of 5 stars Essential for the SAT
I have been an SAT Tutor for the most elite students in New York City for 8 years, and this CD is an absolute must buy. I have all of my students buy it. Who has time or a desire to study flash cards? Rock the SAT takes all the work out of vocab studying and makes it fun! One recent student scored an 800 on her Verbal section and said to me, "I could here the lyrics going through my head during the test. Rock the SAT saved me!" It's that good.

4-0 out of 5 stars interesting...
It's a lot more fun than the other SAT books/flashcards out there, I must say. As an avid music listener, the music isn't amazing, but it works. The words range from really easy (moasic, parallel) to difficult (the first song - reticence, taciturn, laconic). You can prevew a song on the Rock the Sat website too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good review and practice for SAT 1 math
Harder tham the usual test but defintely works.

3-0 out of 5 stars personal student review
As a peer studying for the SAT i recommend this book to those that have reviewed the official SAT workbook, kaplan, and also princeton review. this book show problems that are extremely difficult compared to the regular test but it is a good book to review if your planning to score at the 2100-2400 range.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is a ticket for your dreams to come true.
I've taken my SATs May of 2003, and October 2003.I scored 740 for May SAT and achieved 780 for October SAT.This book is one of the best books for mathematics. It depends on how well you use this book.Anyways, I'll tell how i used this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Grrrrrrrrreaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttt
Another princeton success. You may be worried that this book does not have enough information and is missing some things that you learned in class, however, it has everything that you need to know for the exam. I took the Sat II biology, using this book as my primary source. I saw a few things that i did not see in the princeton review book at all, however, even the most descriptive and in depth book did not contain the information. Don't you see all the amazing reviews on this book. Stop wasting your time and just buy this book already, it is great and self explanatory, and interesting as well, unike barrons. This book is maybe 15x better than barrons, and i garauntee that you will get a better grade on the sat II bio if you use this book to study rather than any other book

5-0 out of 5 stars Good for Understanding
Princeton did a good job making sure everything makes sense in this book, especially if you have taken biology classes, it's easy to follow and organized very similar to a biology textbook. I am still not sure if it's the best book to ace the sat, but from my observations, I am sure it could help you on biology tests and finals.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Practice Tests, Poor Review Chapters
Princeton Review's SAT Biology was the only book I used to prepare for the exam (in addition to my high school biology book) and the score I got is 780. First of all, as all Princeton Review prep books, this one is written badly with frequent typos and other errors. Princeton Review claims that they are using the style that is easy to comprehend for an average student (hence, instead of saying that "acetylcoline is a major neurotransmitter responsible for motion", they would write "acetylcoline is like a tennis ball, you know, it's kind of like when you are playing tennis; that stuff also causes our muscles to move"), but in reality this language is truly confusing - I even had trouble drawing a parallel between what I've learned at school and what they were trying to say. Therefore, their review explanations are basically useless - use you bio book from school instead to review (just look up the bold words from the review sections and make sure you know them - look up those you don't know in your textbook, don't bother reading Princeton's definitions)

1-0 out of 5 stars Disgustingly terrible. Not surprised.
This is the WORST prep book for the SAT (along with the Princeton Review's Math workout). Do not buy this, it is extremely short and is filled with errors ranging from incorrect answers to faulty grammar. Having grammatical errors in a SAT Reading and writing prep book shows how seriously PR takes the SAT. I felt like I was editing the damn thing.
2-0 out of 5 stars waytoo short
This book was useless as it was way too short...don't bother....

5-0 out of 5 stars Very helpful
This book is perfect for anyone having trouble on the Writing and Critical Reading section. To me, it felt like this book went into much more detail than the basic book that the Princeton Review releases. Even reveils some unknown tactics. Really really good. Worth every penny. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't bother with other brands of PSAT guides
I orginally bought The Kaplan and Princeton Review guides together this summer. Until about three weeks before the test the only book i had gone through of the two was the Princeton Review, which i had completed while watching TV one night. It had some ideas, but truely it wasn't anything i couldn't have figured out myself. When i took a practice test at school one day, i did really poorly, had trouble with the Read Comphresnion questions, i couldn't finish that many math problems, and overall struggling. So i went home and found this book, the point of the wookbook is to help you get a better score. It taught me how to break down the two article read comphernsions. Everything in this book is useful, even the english section which i was already confident in. There is alot of coverage on all sections, so it's really up to you if you need more work some sections than others. Also another quality i like is there are practice problems in the lessons, so you don't have to pull out a pratice test and check the answers after each chapter. Seriously if your looking for a PSAT guide there isn't anything better than Kaplan. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good preparation, but some typos and problems.
This is a good preparation for the SAT Literature Subject Test, and is shorter than the other prep books while still contianing a lot of good practice. There are only 3 practice tests, which is fine, becuase you dont need eight (who is really going to practice eight times?). In fact, you will probably force yourself to practice once, so three is plenty. It is easy enough to work through the week before the test, in fact, it is possible to read the whole thing in two sittings, if you are familiar with the way SATs work and don't need to read the general intructions at the beginnging. The "meat" of the preparation (the test strategies section) is only 62 pages long, and easy enough to read. Although, there are probably too few drills to practice on, and you need to take a practice test to get a real sense of what the questions are like. I noticed quite a few typos thoughout the book, which seems ironic for a book focused on Engligh Literature. I took practice test #2, and scored a 580 (which isn't great), and looking over the answer explainations, it seemed to me like a lot of the questions had two or more very legitimate, equally arguable answers. In other words, the topics questioned were too subjective, and open to interpretation, more so than on the actual, official, SAT Subject Test, which I just took and found to be easier than the practice test in this book. But I have not recieved my score back yet- so we will see. Also, the book talks about and tests a lot of what it calls "Roman Numeral questions", a question format where you are given three choices and must choose a combination of roman numerals as an answer. It heavily stressed these as confusing and prevalent... don't worry, I only encountered one of these on the actual test. Overall, I was satisfied with the preparation this book provided, although I think it was a little too subjective in the questions it asked, which may frustrate you when taking the practice tests. Recommended for someone who is fairly good at interpreting literature anyway (an "Enlgish" person), who wants to know what they are going to be tested on, and especially for people who have not done any specific preparation and are panicking on the Wednesday before the test (me.) Not recommended for someone who is not an "Enlgish" person, or has no familiarity with literary terms/devices (in that case, you probably shouldn't be trying this Subject Test), or anyone who wants a lot of preparation becuase they feel really uneasy about taking the SAT Literature Subject Test.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good, but slim
This was the only book I used to prepare for the December 3rd (2005) Literature SAT Subject test. Understand that, I am a Freshman in college and took AP Literature in high school, so most of the material in this book was fairly familiar to me, even though I hadn't had an English class for over 6 months when I took this test.
