5-0 out of 5 stars A New Hope: Cliffs AP Biology
This has to do be one of the best reviewbooks, if not the best, for the AP Biology Exam.Although I worked very hard throughout the entire year, I needed a good review a couple weeks before the AP.All of my classmates had this book, and they loved it?Well, it is an excellent summary of all of the things learned in AP Bio.It presents only the most important terms, concepts, people, and experiments. It follows the structure of the Campbell Biology books. In essence, its information matches exactly what is in all of these books. It condenses and simplifies all topics and makes them comprehensible to even the lay reader. Its summaries last for around 200 pages. After that, it moves onto the twelve required AP experiments and explains them in short yet precise paragraphs. This really helps, especially if you have not done all of the experiments throughout the year.In the end, it provides practice test questions and their answers and explains the answers thoroughly.I forgot: there are practice questions at the end of each chapter to check-up on your comprehension. In the end, I read the Cliffs AP from beginning to end, looked over our handouts, read all my class notes, took practice APs, went over all of the experiments, and looked over key areas in my textbook. It paid off in the end: I got a 5.Because of this book, I had no doubt in my mind what I would get on the AP exam.Go in peace, my brothers and sisters.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST BOOK FOR PREPARING FOR THE AP BIOLOGY TEST!
I did not learn anything in my AP Biology class because my teacher was... not that great. Three weeks before the exam, I started studying. This book was the most helpful. It has great preparation questions and practice essays. It gives just the right amount of information needed to ace the test...nothing more, nothing less. Reading this book was the main reason I got a 5 on the exam. I would also recommend reading the barron's ap biology book along with this one and maybe another book for extra practice questions. That's all you need to ace this test. Good luck!

5-0 out of 5 stars OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I CANT BEGIN TO TELL U ABT THE MAGIC BHIND THIS BOOK LOL.

3-0 out of 5 stars 3 Stars becuz ull get a 3 on the Ap exam
I think they tried really hard to make this an overall and basic review, and not "bog you down" as they say, with information.
3-0 out of 5 stars A mediocre book.
I used this book in studying for the AP US History exam.It really did not cover everything I needed to know for the exam, so I probably got a 3 or 4 on it.Overall, I guess I would say that the review in the book was too basic. The multiple choice practice exams were too easy. Also, my teacher told us that the College Board was creating more and more DBQs that were based on culture (and the Exam's DBQ this year was about women's culture from the post-American Revolution to the beginning of the Civil War), but this book didn't really reflect that change with its practice and test DBQs.
3-0 out of 5 stars This book was okay
This book was nice, but didn't give me the details I wanted. This would make for a good review if you're reading along side another history textbook, but this book alone will not suffice only on the AP exams.I also think the quizzes weren't very realistic, they were often too easy, and nothing like the questions on the actual AP exam ... 5-0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK IS AN INVESTMENT
i do not usually go crazy for the cracking the AP series but this one is by far the gold standard. Covers all the material concisely, relevant problems, very user friendly. If you are committed enough to take the AP Chem give yourself the best possible advantage and get this book. I did not find one error which is incredibly rare.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best AP Chem review book available!
I owned or perused several different review books for the AP Chemistry Exam, but this was certainly the best. I've never seen an AP book as perfectly on-target as this one. Certain books (like Barron's AP Chem) contain too much information where it actually impedes your preparation, whereas others contain too little (which Princeton Review sometimes tends to do). But this book gets the combination just right. It reviews ALL of the necessary facts and concepts you need to know, and excludes everything you don't need to know. Trust me when I say that this book is on the money. And oh, I got a 5.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book = key to getting a 5 on the AP test
I am very pleased with this book. Although there are a few typos, it gets the point out very effectively. I used it to do ALL of my studying for the AP test (along with actual AP practice tests) and got a 5!!!Just make sure you go through the free response questionsin each section, even if u dont do the multiple choice. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Better for tutoring than the AP Test
i go through calculus books the way some people go through Kleenex so i'll just say this:if you are needing review or find your calculus text book verbose or maybe just some extra help in a lower level calc class purchse this one.
3-0 out of 5 stars Dissapointed
I bought princeton U.S. history ap and calculus Ap this year.
3-0 out of 5 stars This book's not so awesome. . .
Well, I used this book in preparation for my Calculus AB exam. Some of this text's features bothered me when I was studying. For one, the book wasn't well organized, as there was no clear distinction between what was AB material and what was solely BC material. You can sort of figure that out for yourself, however, if you know what's tested pretty well. Also, I disliked the problems that were like, "Try it on your own.".There are too many problems that get redundant pretty quickly. If you can do one, you can do several of them. Also, for the few problems that you cannot work out, there is no guide in the back that tells you step-by-step how to do them. There is only an answer key in the back. Also, the practice tests are a bit too easy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fact: The Best AP World History Prep Book
This is the best AP World History prep book on the market. It not only gives a fairly comprehensive review of the history required for the test, it includes comparisons, contrasts, and trends to focus on in the text. The review is concise as well, as opposed to Barrons. DO NOT PURCHASE BARRONS. I repeat, do not purchase Barrons. About half the book is meaningless details that do not help at all. It is way too long, boring, and is pretty much impossible to study from due to its length and extraneous details. The Princeton Review book presents only meaningful information and is easy to memorize. The practice tests, however, are not representative of the real test. I took the AP World History Exam on May 3, 2006---it was far, far easier than Princeton's practice tests, and I found the test itself insanely easy. Using Princeton as your sole study source, as well as thinking critically while reading--making comparisons and contrasts, analyzing trends, etc.--will certainly earn you a 3, and most likely a 4. I read a 1,000 page textbook throughout the year and by the time the test rolled around, I remembered nothing from it. This prep book, which I studied intensely, was basically my only source of information for the test; however, it was a whole lot of information. I received a 5 on the exam thanks to this book. I didn't use my crappy Barrons or unbelievably horrid Kaplan book to study. Just the Princeton Review book. Study this book throughout the school year, know it like the back of your hand (for the most part), and you will breeze through the test.

3-0 out of 5 stars Sort of prepares you
I just took my AP exam this week, and I had used this book to help me prepare. The review information was pretty good, especially the compare and contrast and the change over time. But the sample tests were far off from the real one.

2-0 out of 5 stars Too General. Test questions were not similar to the AP test.
I took the AP History exam on May 3, 2006.The book is too general. The practice test questions were not helpful. Friends of mine who had the AP History exam prep book by Barron's said there were questions on the AP exam that were very similar to the practice tests in the Barron's AP History test prep book. There were none in this book. I do not recommend this book. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A great book for learning Physics
I took AP Physics B in my Senior year at high school and had a HORRIBLE teacher. BY the time the AP exam was a month away, we had only learned about 30% of what we should have known for the exam because of our incompetent teacher.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not AP material
If you are taking Physics B, buy a Physics B book. If you are taking the C test, buy a C book. But please, don't rely on this book to study. This book does not qualify as a study guide. The questions are way too easy compared with actual AP questions, and though the explanations are clear, the material does not go deep enough into the subject. Especially the section on Fluids. The B test goes A LOT more into detail.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good review
My AP Physics teacher recommended this book to our class and he ended up having around an 80% pass rate. This is a great review book. The diagrams and problems help you out a lot. I ended up with a three, and if I hadn't just had the AP Bio test 20 minutes before, I probably would have gotten a 4. This book is great at condensing an issue that you want to review. ... honestly, i didn't pay any attention at all in my ap euro class. but a month before the test, realizing i didn't know anything, i bought this. though it doesn't cover all the facts in enough detail, if you know this book you can still pull off a 5, and who can remember all the details anyway? the practice tests are easily the best availible too. and trust me, if i can scrape a 5 with this book, so can you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Better Than I Expected
When I bought this book, I wondered how a book could help you review for the AP Lit exam, since there are no facts to really cover like in other exams. However, this book is extremely useful for those seeking a high score. It brings you step by step through the process of writing prompts, pointing out important details and giving a plethora of examples. The tips on the multiple choice questions allow you to review all the major terms you need and offers many opportunities to test yourself, with the why behind the answer included.Plus, you will feel better about the test because it is written by a former test writer. This makes it feel like you can trust what he is saying about the test, and I do not remember him being wrong once when it came to the actual exam.In conclusion, buy this book or don't buy one at all.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best review book for AP US History
This is with no doubt the best review guide that you can buy for AP US History, if you use it to its full potential, no questions asked.
3-0 out of 5 stars Review section was okay, practice tests were lacking
I really didn't go through this book as much as other prep books. The review section, while lengthy, lacked information on specific historical figures and left out many of the unifying themes that are indispensable when writing essays for the exam. At best, I skimmed some of the sections, but I found some irrelevant information. This book is great if you have lots of time on your hands to read all of the review section carefully. As for me, I found the information presented in a less than stimulating manner and I ended up relying on course-notes outlines, rereading my American Pageant, the Princeton Review book and my teacher's afterschool review sessions.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Review Book
I very strongly advise you buying this book if you wish to do well on the AP Exam. My teacher was completly useless (he never taught, we never took tests, and we never wrote any practice essays or took any practice AP exams). Nevertheless, I purchased this book and read through it and did the practice exams the weekend before the AP exam. I scored a 5 on this exam and have no doubt that I could not have acheived this without this book. I even belive it would be very possible to get a 5 on the AP exam without taking the class ifyou read this book (I didn't read one single chapter in the actual AP textbook). I don't, however know whether this book would help you do well in the actual class since our teacher didn't make us do anything or attempt to teach us anything, he just gave everyone a 99 in the class.

5-0 out of 5 stars This one is the Best review!!
As a teacher of AP Stats for 7 years, I have found this book to be the best and I encourage my students to purchase it. I love the questions at the end of each section and the fact that answers are explained in detail for not only the free response, but multiple choice. The practice exams at the end are also wonderful and it tells how to get a score for your efforts. This book has become my "stat bible" for my reviews leading up to that first week in May! Thanks to Barron's!

5-0 out of 5 stars THE ULTIMATE US REVIEW
Thanks to this review book, I ended up with a 5! Our AP teacher called this "the review bible" and used this book constantly in class. It's even good for class tests! My friend was failing those until she started reviewing with this book...and her grade improved significantly. The best part of this book is the tests. They ask questions that are definetly comparable to AP level questions, and the best thing is to ALWAYS read the section that explains to you why you are right or wrong on a question. The sample essays are also very helpful. ... Read more

I have no other book to compare it to, but it helps me review for my AP Government class tests. I sometimes wish it had more multiple test questions to offer, but overall the information is well classified and it goes into decent detail on every topic. The sample essays are very helpful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Barron's Is God
Barron's has its shortcomings, sure.I'd still give it five stars, because I earned a 4 on the exam after speed-reading the majority of its contents in a single sitting having not taken a class.I will say this much: the answers to the questions on the exam are in this book; the trick is remembering them! Had I studied more rigorously (i.e., for a week), I am sure I would have earned a five.
2-0 out of 5 stars A American Government Book......not a book on AP Government preparation guide
I strongly discourage the purchase or use of this book.

2-0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK IS A WASTE OF TREES!!!
This book did not help me at all...the content was ok but the strategies sucked and I ended up getting a 2 on the exam. It just gave 2 pages for strategies and it did not have practice questions at the end of each chapter like other books do. Use 5 steps to a 5 (a quarter of the book is about strategies), my friends used it and they said it was soo helpful. Also, this book says 06-07 version but it has been the same for 3 years (i saw the 2003 book in the library). Please take my advice and dont buy this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars REALLY GOOD review book!!
It's REALLY GOOD!!! I got a 4 on the AP U.S. Gov't & Politics exam!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Extremely Helpful and Concise
Unlike Princeton Review's other test prep books where they constanly stuff your mouth with the 'latest' test taking techniques to help you score higher on the tests, Princeton Review does an amazing thing: they filled the book with CONTENT!!!The book is organized according to how college board organizes the information.Near the beginning of the topics (like Constitutional Underpinnings, Public Policy, Civil Rights, etc.), Princeton Review places a list of important terms.I made a terms worksheet and filled it in as I went - extremely helpful.

4-0 out of 5 stars good as a supplement to the class
This is a book that is best for final preparation for the exam.Last year, in BC Calculus, I was absent for the series and sequences lessons due to an illness and I came back for a test studying through the Barron's books and I had trouble understanding it.The tests are definitely a lot harder than the real thing.I studied my [...] off and got a 5 on the actual exam as well as a 5 on the AB subscore.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Fair Book
This book is very comprehensive, too many details at times. The practice test is a little bit more difficult than the actual test.It is not very well organized or appealing to look. There aren't enough diagrams and pictures for visual learners.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very helpful
I had several sources to help me do well in AP Calculus AB. One of them was this book.

4-0 out of 5 stars I liked using the book
Yes, there were typos here and there but overall the information the book provided was great. It helps you analyze information so itdoesn't review almost every event in US history, it gives you a nice overview of the most important events that will most likely be used when writing the DBQ or free-responses. The questions at the end of each chapter were good to use because they seemed as if they were extracted from a previous AP exam. I believe that this is a good review book for incoming AP students. I received my score the other day and I did get a 5 so I believe the book helped my score along with my hard efforts in class.

2-0 out of 5 stars Typos abounded.
I didn't like this book at all. The typos kept throwing my mind off--they needed a proofreader DREADFULLY.
3-0 out of 5 stars Good for review, not for learning...too many typos
This book is excellent for review. It brings up the major topics, and does a good job at putting them in context. The practice tests are excellent, and the questions at the end of the chapters are good too.It does a good job with its section at the end of each chapter that says "To get a 5, you should be able to discuss..."It doesn't go into enough detail if you don't already know the material, though. Also, the book is filled with typos.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book, as expected
bought this book on Amazon, saved a bunch of money, got the book in 3 days. i don't think it gets much better than that. as for the book itself, well, i always trusted barrons for most of my tests, and this is no exception.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's OK
This book is ok.Some of the explanations (like with electricity) are a bit confusing, and some of the information in the book is not even tested on the AP exam (like angular momentum). There are a few errors in the answer choices too, and those threw me off. When I studied it, I had no experience with physics whatsoever, and I crammed for the AP Physics B exam in a month and got a 3.But nonetheless I did learn quite a bit, and the introductory chapters that dealt with testing and learning strategies were nice to read. I also found that, as opposed to the Princeton Review's book, theres more verbal explanation of the concepts, rather than a set of problems, making it seem more like a textbook than just a problem workbook.
