4-0 out of 5 stars Best value for money
This book is a complete introductory course that presents the basic concepts of Quantum Mechanics.
4-0 out of 5 stars Excelente libro de texto sobre Física Cuántica.
2-0 out of 5 stars Not great
I bought this book as I was taking undergraduate-level Quantum Mechanics. While it has a better review and analysis of bra and ket notation than, say, the Griffiths text, and has excellent applications (square well, energy levels, Landau Levels, etc.), it was practically useless until I finished the course.Additionally, as others have pointed out, the outline is riddled with errors. It is not as well-written as Murray Spiegel's Vector Analysis or Fourier Series books. If you're a graduate student or want a refresher course, I'd consider it. Otherwise, this is not the ideal choice. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Great intro to VB.Net but poor certification prep
If you are new to Visual Basic.Net then this book is great for getting a basic understanding of the language. If you are using it to introduce yourself to the language then I would highly recommend it.However, this book miserably fails its' title in preparing for the 70-306 exam. 2-0 out of 5 stars Frustrating
This book is chalk full of errors.I am not at all convinced that anyone went back through and actually tried to reproduce the examples and assignments found in this book.If you like a challenge and enjoy debugging someone else's code, this is the book for you.If, however, you feel that your time is better spent actually studying for the exam I would skip this book.

3-0 out of 5 stars OK
This book is alright, but it does not take into consideration all OS's on which the code might be running (xp users beware on the globalization chapter) and some of the end of chapter questions don't even seem to be based on data discussed in the chapter. That all being said, there aren't many other options exam prep books for 70-306 and this one is at least easy to follow along with although I don't think it is in depth enough for the exam. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Not much on the core subject of abstract algebra
This book has some good theoretical mathematics content, unfortunately not much of it is about the subject of abstract algebra. The first 80 pages of this book talk about sets, relations, operators, and number systems. The next 50 pages or so consist of elementary material ongroups, rings, fields, and polynomials, and act as a very basic introduction to abstract algebra. Then the author again diverges off into mathematics that does not relate to abstract algebra and talks about vector spaces, matrices, matrix polynomials, linear algebra, and boolean algebra. Again, this is all good mathematical material with some good problems, but I don't see what it has to do with learning abstract algebra. A better title for this book would have been "Schaum's Outline on the Foundations of Mathematics" since it is really supplying a good theoretical introduction to mathematics for the mathematics major at about the college sophomore level. If that is what you are looking for, I would give this book about four stars.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great supplement
If you're taking a course in introductory modern algebra, you should have a copy of this book. As with many other Schaum's outline series books, you will find a concise, clear review of the theory, followed immediately by many problems with detailed solutions. My students tell me this Schaum's made a positive difference in their understanding. Beyond the introductory level, this book has limited use as it doesn't cover much of field and ring theory nor Galois theory very well.
3-0 out of 5 stars mm, not quite what I was hoping for...
This installment in the Schaum's outline series doesn't do it for me. I had reason to pick this one up simply out of curiousity (and out of habit, by usingother titles in this series for other lower-level undergraduate courses). It hardly stimulates any interest on the part ofthe reader; and the presentation is dry; not to mentionthat the selection of solved problems wasn't carefully thought out (most, I found, were proofs of some pretty standard results, which I would have rather not seen all over again). And the bare-hands computations weren't all that exciting, either.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Builds Nicely on Schaums Principles of Accounting
Accounting has never been a favorite subject of mine, but the Schaums Outline series has been wonderful.Presentation of topical material is concise, Solved Problems reinforce chapter concepts, and chapter-end questions have solidified my understanding of accounting.
5-0 out of 5 stars Schaum's Outline of Intermediate Accounting I
I am an accounting student. Sometimes the textbook can be quite confusing.Schaum's simplifies the explanation. It is a great additional reference for any accounting student. I purchased all the Schaum's Outlines related to Accounting and now I get wonderful comments from my instructor and classmates on how well I understand the material. It is soooo worth the investment.:-)

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay to use but not as your only book
This book does cover the material however, it is organized somewhat funny, a little difficult to follow and the IPv6 section is very weak. If you are new to these subjects this book is not for you. It is easier if you have years of hands on experience or have read other books first.I used it as a complement with the Doyle and new Cisco Press CCIE book plus my own lab to pass the BSCI in a couple of weeks. The CD test engine is too easy. One tip to pass the BCSI, practice, practice, practice.
3-0 out of 5 stars it doesnt cover everthing..
I did read this book entire, my practice tests score were average of 98 to 100%, but I did not pass the exam.
4-0 out of 5 stars Required reading
Studying this book finally enabled me to pass the BSCI.Make no mistake though; this is not a great book.It is poorly organized, it is full of errors (even ones not stated in the errata - I can rattle off quite a few) and basically hard to understand.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tough but outstanding!
Tough but outstanding!
5-0 out of 5 stars The best
Out of the three books I used, this book gets my highest rating. The other books I had were Kaplan GMAT (2005 Edition) and the Official Guide for GMAT review (10th Edition).I ended up taking the test twice.Studied for about 4 weeks before the first test, mostly using Kaplan book, as I heard it had the hardest questions (and was the lightest one to carry around in my bag).Practiced on Kaplan's computer diagnostic test, and got 540.I feel, they make their material unnecessary hard, probably to make you register for their prep course.Spent some time reading Nova's book, and found it much easier as well as providing much better explanations. Also questions were much more in line with questions from the Official Guide. Took the test and got 650 (q:48, v:31), and was very much disappointed, mainly because I didn't do a good job pacing myself on the verbal section, and ended up not answering the last 5 questions.I knew I had to study and concentrate on Verbal section in particular, because I felt that I had to guess on almost every question in that section.
5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent preparatory text
I am very happy with this book. After reading numerous reviews about this and other GMAT guides, I chose this one.It was not easy to find in bookstores, which largely carry the more familiar titles(Kaplan, etc.)I bought the book around Christmas.

3-0 out of 5 stars Summer School REview
I used Schaum's for a Summer School Trigonometry course. It doesn't replace a textbook but it covered all the necessary topics effectively and provided a good alternative to derivations and problems found in the text.I relied on it as a backup and a good check on the work being covered in class.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good supplement
To succeed in a trig class, one must work as many problems as one can, especially when treating trigometric identities. If you're taking a trig class, then I recommend that you buy a copy of this book for it contains a clear review of the theory, followed immediately by many problems with detailed solutions.
2-0 out of 5 stars Terrible for Theory
I needed to brush up on my Trig for a calculus class that I'm currently in. While reading the text I found it hard to follow what the author was getting at.

Today, teaching a lot of business mathematics classes, this is one of the Schaum's outline series I recommend as a study guide and textbook supplement, especially for intermediate courses in economic theory as all the main ideas are covered reasonably well.My students say they find the examples to be useful, and the homework problems (with solutions) to be accessible.I found a few mistakes here and there, but not many.
