4-0 out of 5 stars Passed
I had taken the 7 twice by the time I got this book. This book is more like a text book than the other material I had and it helped me understand the material better. After studying, I passed, enough said.

1-0 out of 5 stars Really Bad
Very very very poorly written. The book jumps from one subject to another and then back again with no reason. There are other books out there that are much better. You cannot pass with this book.Believe me, I know.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible
I definitely agree with all of the other people that gave this one star.I have seen several different Series 7 books and this one is by far the worst. The book is disorganized, difficult to read, and missing a lot of important information.Save your money and buy another book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Big Help
I had taken this test twice before I bought this book and failed by a few points.I found this book helpful because it gave you the content information and also tips on how to take the test!!

5-0 out of 5 stars You Need This Book For the MTEL
I purchased this book about a month or so ago because I was taking the MTEL at the beginning of March. This book was so helpful to me for this test. It's perfect. The practice tests were very accurate, and it was a great opportunity to find where your weaknesses are for this test. I was able to identify where I needed extra practice, and used the 3 practice tests to help me out a lot. I highly recommend this book if you are taking the MTEL. It helped so much.
5-0 out of 5 stars MTEL Communication Test Prep Review
This was an outstanding review guide. The practice drills were very helpful in identifying areas of weakness. The book provides a lot of practical advice for success on this most unusual test. The explanations provided with the practice tests were as good a review as the content of the book. It is well written and concise in its presentation of the material. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Not good to study for General Chemistry Praxis test
I was going to use this to study for the General Teacher Praxis tests, but it does not cover the depth needed. The book might be good for someone who has recently taken a chemistry class, to fill in some blanks. But is not a good overall general class prep.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great for High School
I am taking Honors Physics in High School and it is a great study tool. It is very helpful for looking up definitions and gives you plenty of practice. If you are taking the class in High School I would deffinetly recommend it to any student.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice, self-contained text or reference
If you're taking a course in geometry, DON'T let yourself fall behind because catching up is very hard to do.You should have a copy of this book. In it, you will find a concise, clear review of the theory, followed immediately by many problems with detailed solutions. My students tell me this Schaum's made a positive difference in their understanding.
5-0 out of 5 stars A book that tutors can teach from...for students with desire
This book is suitable for high school or first year college students who have to take geometry. It is a no-frills, basics package that all students can master, if they take the time.I agree with the previous reviewer that students should make flash cards of definitions and theorems, but doing problems simultaneously, section-by-section, will not hurt.
1-0 out of 5 stars NOT AS GOOD AS 2nd Edition!

5-0 out of 5 stars If you like plain English...
This book breaks down the law into everyday terms for all of us who aren't up in our legal terminology. The practice exams included are accurate representations of the actual test questions, the rationales are easy to understand. It helped me pass the 63 the first time!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellentstudy guide for students of discrete math and computer science
Discrete mathematics, or the study of finite systems, has become increasingly important for students of computer science, and this book is a good foundational text on the subject. This Schaum's outline is much more complete than the average Schaum's, and it is also very clear and instructive. It is not just a good text for discrete mathematics. It also covers the basics of abstract algebra and the basics of the theory of computation.
4-0 out of 5 stars Typical Schaum's
This is a very helpful outline whether you are taking the class and need a supplement or are just trying to learn the material on your own.The writing is clear and succinct, and there are hundreds and hundreds of practice problems all of which are answered. The topics covered are standard for the topic, so this book will cover everything in your class unless your teacher has some unorthodox lesson plan.My one caveat is that there are occasional errors in the answer keys. This can be frustrating especially if you don't feel confident in your own work. The errors are far and few between for the most part and if you can live with them then you will get much use out of this book.Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Engineering Physics I & II level coverage
This book is fantastic for either supplementary study or serving as stand-alone text. All of the Phys I chapter content found in most other texts will be presented in depth and in concert; typical layout is anywhere from 6-10 pgs of theory and subject explanation, followed by 5-15 pgs of fully solved, worked out problems. The step-by-step nature of the problems is amazing and helped me get an A in both Phys I & II moreso than attending lecture - which was a rarity some weeks. The progression is: Vectors, Mechanics & Motion in several dimensions (mostly 2), Angular & Rotational Dynamics (Center of Inertia), brief Thermodynamics overview (too simple of systems, but at least there's something), Sound & Vibration, Electrical Forces, RC RL RLC circuits, magnetism, induction principles, fields and charges, poles and magnetic materials, optics (reflection, refraction, diffraction, lenses, interference patterns, optical instruments, and finally a cursory examination of relativity.
5-0 out of 5 stars Essential for success in college freshman physics
Many freshman college physics textbooks are just awful. They often go on and on about what is obvious and gloss over the finer points...and of course there are no examples. This is where this book comes in. As in all Schaum's outlines, for each topic there are a few pages of theory including equations, then some problems with the solutions worked out extensively, and then finally some problems with the answers but no extensive solution. The format of the outline is the same that you should expect in any two semester college freshman physics sequence. The first part of the book is an explanation of vectors, newtonian mechanics, fluids, and thermodynamics. The second part of the book follows the usual second semester of freshman physics - electricity, magnetism, and optics. The final six chapters of the outline are an introduction to modern physics, which engineers and physics students would normally take after they finish the two semester freshman physics sequence. A note of caution - do not buy the attractively named "Schaums Outline of Physics for Engineering and Science". It is chocked full of errors! Instead, stay with this old reliable title. It is the best.

5-0 out of 5 stars A necessity
To succeed in a fast-paced introductory phyics class, one must work as many problems as one can. If you're in such a class, then for your grade's sake, I recommend that you buy a copy of this book for it contains a clear review of the theory, followed immediately by MANY, MANY example problems with detailed solutions. As always though, try to work the problems before peeking in the answers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Buy
This was a last minute purchase for school and the book was shipped quickly and arrived on time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely necessary for O Chem!
if you're taking o chem, then you need this book.the summaries are helpful for review of chapters or in the worst case scenario, in substitution of the chapters.but the most important part of this book are the solutions to the problems.the only way you'll learn organic chemistry, like it or not, is by practicing problems.this solutions manual is the only way to know if you're doing those problems correctly - the text book does NOT contain solutions for problems in the book, beside the worthlessly easy ones contained directly in the chapters.in addition to the solution, it contains an explanation for all problems that require one.

1-0 out of 5 stars Errors on study cards
Hello, fellow suffering students preparing for the GRE. I cannot recommendthese study cards! I found several errors in the math cards; some simplemisprints and some calculation errors. On the verbal cards some words wouldbe listed in the adjective form while the definition was given for thenoun, and vice versa. I found them to be very detrimental and began toconsult my dictionary for many of them. I also bought "The GRE forDummies" which was much more helpful, since it gives a clearexplanation of all of the math problems, while the cards do not. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars You want this book
I've taken the basic exam, and did ok. Unfortunately military points, and other factors I wont get into here, okay is not enough. This book is the exam. The methods he recommends using involving making up your own stories to help with memory (something with sex usually works for me)has its advantages, although I think he overplays it in the book. I'm not completely through it, I still have mathematics left, but at this point I must say it is worth the money. And in my humble opinion, you get what you pay for, and more. However this is just 1 of 2 books with the words "Police Exam Prep" in the title that I bought, I'll let you know how the other one turns out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Memory Jogger forImplementation of Basic Math Pre-Algebra
As so often happens, if not used,... forgotten!! This book refreshed my memory of high school basic math and Pre-Algebra. As I am now in an industry that utilizes math on a day by day, project by project basis, I've found this book to instrumental in my ability to succeed in my work.

3-0 out of 5 stars Save yourself from frustration
I consider myself to be a fairly smart young man; more wits than anything. My math skills however are not exactly up to par. I can't really even remember the last time I had to use math other than basic adding and subtraction. I bought this book in hopes of getting re-acquainted with math and preparing myself for an upcoming Statistics class. The book does not go into detail, it doesn't explain itslef, it will say to do this and that, BUT WILL NOT SAY WHY! I am constantly trying to figure out the procedures for coming to each solution on my own. A couple years ago I bought a prep book and it was euphoric compared to this one. The book was an ASVAB prep book and covered many different areas than just math. The math section really helped me out a lot though. I cannot comprehend why people are praising this book, my guess is that they are are decent in math and for the most part are familiar with everything in the book. For me, it was like starting from scratch and this was not the book for me. If your in the same boat as me, I suggest going in a book store and looking around. Take some time practicing with the problems and see if you like how the problems are explained. In other words, don't buy a book you are going to regret buying.

5-0 out of 5 stars Valuable resource for the CCIE R&S lab
CiscoPress's "CCIE Practical Studies - Volume II" by Solie and Lynch does a good job at preparing CCIE Routing & Switching candidates for the CCIE Lab.While this book picks up where Volume 1 left off, this volume does a much better job at both documenting and displaying some of the more advanced requirements of the lab.It is also important to note that this book should not be used to first introduce yourself to a topic. The book requires you to be familiar with the topics discussed.
4-0 out of 5 stars Worth the price of admission!
I am a multiple CCIE looking for all around knowledge of subjects, including the multiple topics listed in this book.Having read the first volume in the series, I wanted to learn the tips and tricks of the authors.I can honestly say that4-0 out of 5 stars CCIE Practical Studies, Volume II sets good example
CCIE Practical Studies Volume II is the latest in the CCIE Practical Studies series. This book is not just intended for individuals who have completed the CCIE written test, but for anyone who has advanced knowledge of networking theory. The book assumes you already have an understanding of routing protocols, WAN technologies, and LAN switching. Each chapter includes a section on theory but primarily focuses on the configuration aspect ending with several lab scenarios. CCIE Practical Studies Volume II includes five complete lab scenarios including the solutions on CD-ROM. These five lab scenarios are in addition to the regular labs at the end of each chapter. This book will especially appeal to those working towards their CCNP or CCIE, but also for anyone who is looking for extensive configuration examples of ethernet switching (3550), network access and propagation control, multicast routing, QOS and performance management, and advanced BGP configuration.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent outline and overview
This little review and outline packs a lot of information into only about 130 pages. This means it makes for fairly dense reading given the technical level but it's obviously intended for the biochem or serious student. The book consists of 15 chapters ranging from 5 to 20 pages in length, depending on the subject. Key concepts or facts are emphasized and often highlighted in dark gray boxes throughout the text, and some chapters include solved problems. A sampling of the chapter titles includes Proteins; Lipids and Membranes; Enzyme Catalysis and Kinetics; Carhohydrate Metabolism; the Citric Acid Cycle; Nitrogen Metabolism; and Gene Expression and Protein Synthesis. 1-0 out of 5 stars Poor
For a book purporting to be of solved problems, then I cannot reccomend it at all. The workings are not very thorough... skipping out whole lines of calculation. This leaves you with the feeling that figures have just been plucked out of the air.
4-0 out of 5 stars do the problems
Provided you already know the material then this book is great as a cram revision for an exam. The value is strictly in the 800 problems with answers. The topics span elementary statics. 5-0 out of 5 stars Really good
I'm using this to teach my 7 and 6 years old children about geography. Really good starting point to prepare for the bee.

5-0 out of 5 stars Geography Bee Boost
This book has been an invaluable source, crammed with information, for me. By using it to study, it has greatly improved my chances in the state bee(April 2).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Prep.
This book was definitely a much better help than the Official National Geographic Study Guide. It included tons and tons of questions (some of them, however, are easy) and terms and a general overview of every state in the U.S. and pretty much every country in the world.Read more
