Not my favorite
I prefer the New Mexico Atlas and Gazetteer over the Benchmark New Mexico Road & Recreation Atlas.The reason is that the gazetteer shows state and federal lands - places where I'm not tresspassing.That's important to me.I carry them both, but the gazetteer gets used much more.

New and Improved...notably improved...well worth buying
My copy of the fourth edition of this map is worn out from use.Many of its pages have been torn out for backpacking or hitchhiking trips and then taped back in, many of my favorite roads have been highlighted and annotated, and its corners are all bent and scuffed from the map being stuffed beneath car seats and thrown into tents.I like that edition a lot, but I've always had complaints about it: its contents were detailed and accurate, but hard to access...it had maps of both public and private and urban areas, but were hard to correlate with one another.And there were certain areas that weren't noted, and that should have been.

A great resource for Spanish professionals
This is an excellent resource for those who are using the Spanish language in a professional capacity. I would strongly recommend it to teachers, translators, interpreters and writers. Advanced students in Spanish would also find this dictionary helpful. This dictionary is monolingual-Spanish only and it provides a wide range of synonyms and antonyms of the selected words with examples as necessary to show subtle differences in meaning especially when there is a very fine line between which word is more adequate. A good example of this is the word "narrow". In Spanish you will find "estrecho" and "angosto" however, with very subtle differences not to be used interchangeably. Most dictionaries don't make the distinction. This one does and this concept is very important when using the language at a high level. Another great example is the word "beautiful" in Spanish there are many equivalents such as "hermoso", "bello", "lindo" etc. but all with very specific nuances, which need to be taken into consideration when using the words. Since having purchased this dictionary three years ago, I find it to be a valuable resource. If you are an advanced student or a Spanish professional this dictionary will prove to be beneficial.

Essential for navigating France by car
I just returned from a month of car travel in France and Italy.I took Michelin's fold-out country maps, which turned out to be far too small for car navigation.Luckily, I was able to borrow this atlas from a friend while I was in France, and it saved the trip.Detail is sufficient for most driving situations, and France's excellent road system and generally helpful signage did the rest.I wish I'd had something like this in Italy, where I just about had a stroke trying to navigate by their sign "system" while dodging Vespe and trying to keep the semis off my tail.This map is essential.Do NOT buy any of the other large-scale Europe maps: they are FULL of errors, often many on a single route [exits shown on the wrong side of cities, incorrect route numbers, incorrect route designations, etc].Michelin is the way to go in Europe.

Great Homeschool Spanish Supplement
I am currently using this book in addition to the (old) Basic Spanish CD's from Berlitz to teach my children Spanish this year.The dictionary is providing a wonderful selection of additional vocabulary that is pertinent to home life.Each selection is accompanied by pronounciation and a sample sentence both in English and Spanish.The sample sentences give further help in learning sentence structure and idomatic expersions.There are about 2000 Spanish entries and 2000 English entries.

A solid large print Spanish/English Bilbe
As noted in another review this is not genuine leather but is a good imitation.If you want that genuine leather order ISBN1558190333 for a little more money.I order books for a church book store and this has been a popular item. I'm trying out the genuine leather issue now.

Wonderful and comprehensive.
This is incredibly comprehensive coverage of the founding of the present state of Israel and as such, is unique. The correspondents have clearly got their fingers dirty, by digging down to the real issues behind the present state. I read this in conjunction with Richard Patton's incredible "The Autobiography of Jesus of Nazareth and the Missing Years".Having been brought up in a largely Christian culture, Patton's book about the man we call Jesus was wonderfully enhanced by the political background provided by Brinkley et al. not what i expected
I read Barbara mark and Trudy books, and it really make belive, feel, live with my angel. This books is quite the opposite so unreal, fake even an insult to your intelligence.Just do not buy you do not need this cheap literature. just belive

Un cl�sico de la literatura cubana

Good Honest book
Lydia Cabrera's book is a very informative book.I also own the 3 books on the subject that she has written. As a practioner you can always look back and read a little bit just to widen the spectrum on opinion from a different person ( or from different branch) It;s a great book I would recommend it to anyone who speaks/reads spanish fluently who is interested on the subject of Magico/afro/religeous systems.

Historically Informative
Lydia's books are all very nice when it comes to the explanation of things and their history.

Very useful
As a first year Master's student in TESOL, I have to read a lot of linguistics-related articles/books, and I am learning much of the terminology as I go.This book has saved me hours of googling for an adequate definition of unfamiliar terms/theories.If you have an interest in linguisitics, this book is a vital aid in making the literature accessible.Whether you are a beginner or not, this book should be a part of your library.

Lucid prose.Good examples.Decent range.This dictionary is nothing more than it advertises.It is not an encyclopedia and therefore goes into very little depth.But it does collate terms from a broad range of disciplines within linguistics and has helped a novice like me become familiar with them (if not an expert).It is expecially good at describing how the meanings of terms have changed over time, or how they are employed in different contexts or sub-fields of linguistics. ... Fantastico para mejorar su abilidad
Without a doubt this probably is the best intermediate text & CD ROM available for anyone who wants to move from "advanced beginner" to a more conversational "advanced intermediate" speaker of Spanish.It will also help the "listening" component of improving communication skills in Spanish.The text is very uniquely organized and excellently done.Although relatively short, it is packed with useful information.The CD ROM is essential to maximize the total potential learning experience.The speech, dialogues, accents, and interactions are quite "real" and very understandable.There is even an concise grammar review section, and an essential spanish-english dictionary so that one could take the book and study even without immediate access to a dictionary for most unfamiliar words.(The three-page explanation of using the Imperfect versus the Preterite uniquely clarifies an often muddy concept.)The use of the five distinct Spanish speaking characters interacting through the stories in each chapter draws the student into their characters and is a great tool for experiencing the "flavor" of different hispanohablantes.These authors have really produced a program that goes beyond what any other texts out there offer.I wish I had found this several years ago.Both the text and CD are worth the price.

The Best Way to Improve Your Spanish by Far
I am a Spanish heritage speaker and have studied Spanish at several renowned instuitions in the United States including Middlebury College in Vermont.This is the book of choice for the intermediate level and I can't agree more. I am a missionary in Nicaragua and have been using this Bilingual The best resource I've ever used overseas.
As a Fundamental Baptist preacher, I have worn out two of these and am purchasing my third. I live in an area that has a large Hispanic population. I used to travel to Central and South America where it was invaluable. I have a South American friend who loves this Bible as well. Even if a person knows very little spanish, he can witness the gospel to those who do by locating the passages in english and letting the Spanish person read them in his or her own language.
