Great book.You may want to buy the edition that has the CDs with it (Learn Spanish the Fast and Fun Way w/4 CDs).Overall the pace isn't too bad but I find they often throw a bunch of nouns in at once (like 10 in a section) and it may take me several days to memorize them before moving on to the next section. I wished the book would have covered estar and ser at the beginning...so far I have not seen anything covering it. However, it is still a great book for learning Spanish.

Better With Behind the Wheel English for Spanish Speakers
As with Level 1, the 'segundo nivel' of William Harvey's 'Ingles Para Latinos' is a classic which is loved by Spanish speakers for its ease of use, pronunciation guides and easy to learn practical basics presented in a non threatening and friendly manner.
Good for ESL Learners
I teach ESL for adults, and this book is really helpful for the native Spanish speakers because it uses phonetic spellings for the English words.

Learning english the easy way
I bought this book for my girlfriend a month ago. This book breaks english down so well and I am surprised how well she is coming along. I have bought computer programs and other books in the past but nothing comes close. how not to learn a language
I moved to spain a year ago, but in the 6 months before i left nyc i decided to take a spanish class to give me a head start.

Disappointing book really bad
This is a very bad medical dictionary. It has a huge lack of medical terminology, everytime I need to traslate something I never find it in this "medical" dictionary ... so I go to a normal non-medical dictionary and often I find it ... hilarious.

This book is exactly what I needed. When I am interpreting I bring this with me as a resource. It is small enough to carry. My large dictionary I keep at home.

Terrible for Beginners (No me gusta)
If you have a choice, do not buy this book.If you must buy it for your class, seriously consider taking a different Spanish class that doesn't use this book.
A LONG WAIT FOR PRODUCT
I ordered this product on the 3rd of August via expedited (2 day)shipping and it did not get here until the 13th of August!!Class started here on the 15th. The product itself was as it stated, so I can not complain about that.I would not use this shipper unless you have plenty of time to wait.

I was looking for a student workbook for practice in spanish.I ordered this book because it was listed as "like new",it took me almost three weeks to get it and when I did I found the worksheets for the first five chapters were cut out.I am now approaching my first term exam for those same chapters and have no book to review. ... the Gazetteer
I would not want to be without this map when referring to locations throughout the state of Maine.The gazetteer is an invaluable resource.

A definite MUST HAVE for any Maine traveler
We bought this atlas a few weeks before a two week Maine vacation we had planned.We had an idea of a few different places we were going to visit and didn't want to get lost along the way.
Maine Bible

Gramatica De La Lengua Inglesa : A Complete English Grammar Workbook for Spanish Speakers

Excellent and thorough, very good tool for ESL classes.
I bought this book for my class of Latin American students who were learning English as a second language. The grammar exercises in this book were well-written and accurate, and the organization of the material into short chapters makes it easy to teach this material in a classroom. This book was an excellent resource because it explains the concepts in Spanish, which makes the experience more familiar and less overwhelming for the students. A few words of advice - this material is somewhat advanced, so those who have never studied grammar formally (e.g., some of my students had quit school in their 8th grade) may struggle a little with some of the concepts (e.g., what is an adjective). Also, if you are an ESL teacher, you should also be able to read Spanish if you want to use this book, since it explains the concepts in Spanish. I enjoyed this book since it made teaching easy - I needed only about 15 min. of preparation time before each class when I was teaching one of these chapters. Finally, if you are teaching an ESL class, I recommend you use at least one additional book for the purpose of learning vocabulary and practicing pronunciation, since this book really only covers grammar.

Very good but a couple complaints
This highly detailed map is an invaluable reference but its size and layout make it cumbersome to refer to on the go.Also there's no overlap from one page to the next.If your route is in the middle of the page, you're in luck!But going from Asheville to neighboring Black Mountain requires flipping among 4 different pages.

A compromised but required series of maps
For years I refused to buy this road atlas because it got the name and length of the 1970's era street I live on wrong. In fact, I noted several errors within the vicinity that I'm most familiar with. That said, it's still the only serious contender for a reasonably decent compendium of local maps. I finally broke down and bought a copy because so many birding and canoeing resources reference the "Delorme" as it's usually called locally. It's no real alternative to having very detailed USGS topo maps of any area of intense interest, but I'll give it credit for being a reasonably compact, (by large, bulky, car use standards), version of a state map. It's position is between that of the free Dept of Transportation maps and the highly detailed local maps that can be purchased from convience stores for road use, and from the better outdoor provision and recreational companies for topographical and lake and shore details. For what it is, it's definitely worth the price. Just don't expect it to be the last local map you'll buy. It's a compromise all the way around. But, sometimes a compromise is the best solution. That said, I went ahead and got the one for SC, and will probably get the one for VA as well.

the delorme gazeteer series is perfect for people who want to wander off of the main roads.my wife and i like to point the car as whim sees fit.the map has backroads with enought detail to let us find our wish and our way back.essential for indirect travel.also has marked 4wd trails to unknown wonders, as well as a smattering of known wonders (waterfalls, museums, fishing, camping...).not a replacement for usgs quads, but will make the travel to your hike more fun.if you are interested in exploring a state, or some portion thereof, the gazetteer series is an invaluable tool. ... Missing pages
Yes, I read the previous reviews on missing pages and hope that I would not have the same problem.Unfortunately, I have discovered some missing pages.In my short time, I have discovered pages 61 to 76 of the English-Spanish section to be missing.Don't know what else is missing.I guess I will find out.
Great Dictionary, Disappointing Quality
I just purchased this dictionary at the beginning of the month, but unfortunately I had to return it back to Amazon for the second time.I had used previous editions of this dictionary while doing professional translations and now that I am freelancing, decided to get the latest edition to assist me with my projects.I was impressed to see how much the dictionary has improved over the years both in terms of content, layout and overall presentation and usefulness.In that respect, this dictionary deserves 4 or 5 stars.However, the first time my order was fulfilled, I went through every single page of the dictionary to make sure there were no missing pages (see earlier reviews from other users), as I did not want any unpleasant surprises later on.This proved to be a wise decision.Although there were no missing pages in either copy, both were defective.It seems that there is a printing problem with this edition, as several pages in the Spanish section of the dictionary were smudged with the printer's ink, thus rendering the text illegible.As I've indicated, this happened in the original as well as the replacement copy Amazon sent me.Because of this oversight or disregard for quality control by the publishing company I cannot recommend the purchase of this dictonary.Maybe there are good copies of this edition out there, but I am not taking any more chances and will be purchasing the Oxford Spanish Dictionary instead, which does not seem to have the same quality control or printing issues. ** By the way, I meant to give this review only 2 stars, not five! **

Disappointed
I purchased this with the intent of using to help divide mailing lists by sales territory.However,I soon realized that it defines zip code areas by the first three digits only, i.e. 640, 641.This was helpful, but not nearly as much help as a five digit breakout would have been.If you need a five digit breakout, buy a wall map.

This book has been the best resource for me when I'm trying to determine sales territory alignments based on customer zip codes. Many times, the zip code is not provided to me and I can go to this book and get on track.This has saved me a great deal of frustration! A must-have for any Ohio fisherman
I like to scout out small lakes off the beaten path, and this Atlas has proven invaluable to me.Picture this:If you cut out all the pages and re-assembled them into a one-piece map it would be as roughly as big as the average front yard!Hardly anything is left out, including many small farm pond sized bodies of water.My best discovery to date was a tiny 'lake' South of Columbus, Ohio, with a picture of a fish on it.I made the short trip and proceeded to catch a 6 pound Bass out of it- unheard of in the more heavily populated lakes around Columbus.

Atlas of the World, 12th Edition
Maps and other information is highly detailed, colorful, current, and informative. Most would be pleased to own this valuable piece of reference material.

Oxford Atlas
Wonderful, really.There are so many good things about this atlas, that it is difficult to cover them.The maps are great -- though, the one criticism I have is that every country's map in in the names of things in that country's language.Well, not speaking a hundred different languages, I often haven't the slightest idea what I am looking at.A few times, the add the English in parenthesis, but not as much as is needed.I would encourage them to discard the multicultruism and just print everything in English.Things are going to go that way, eventually, any way, as the Anglosphere is getting tired of multiculturalism.Anyway, there are terrific satellite pictures of different cities, many city maps.I wish they would add better maps of the oceans, though.Also, the ocean bottoms would be interesting, like the National Geographic Society has made.I would have liked more maps of little islands, as I have lived on such and would have liked that to see.Anyway, still a fantastic effort.Worth every penny.I bought it for reference, and it has helped me already. ... The best Atlas I have ever saw on Alaska
Complete, detailed, with all information you may need. A must and in a large format. If you plan to travel to Alaska by any means, do not miss this!

A Good Starting Point for Planning
The sheer size of Alaska tends to defeat what would otherwise be an unbeatable map collection for most states in the lower 48.A second challenge is the very thin transportation infrastructure in Alaska; huge areas of the state are not on the limited road network and can be reached in a timely manner only by air.Enormous swaths of wilderness have no transportation network at all.

Great book for modest needs
This bilingual dictionary's two greatest virtues are its compact yet readable format and its affordable price. And, as a bonus, there are brief summaries of irregular verb forms, which occur with frequency that keeps a novice like me guessing. These reminders are packaged with the two-way translations for convenience, never meant as a substitute for an exhaustive reference.

This dictionary is an excellent choice for the price. Of course you can get better ones, but certainly you will need lot of additional money and an additional backpack exclusively for carrying it around!
