This book is about as good as it gets.It covers all the bases an investigator should know about sexual assualt and gives you insite into the criminal mind.I also recommened the Crime Classification Manuel by Douglas, burgess, etc and Criminal Profiling 2nd edt. by Brent Turvey.

A bible for Forsenic examiners
As a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, I found this book to be filled with vital information.This book was required reading for a forensic's class, it was anything but..I highly recommend this book to professionals in this field, but also anyone who is interested in true crime and studying behaviors.

Crucial Information
This book contains must have information for anyone owning an IRA. I had a previous version and wanted to keep current as I approach the magic age. This book tells you how to avoid fines and penalties from the dastardly IRS. Keep as much of your hard earned savings as possible for as long as possible by reading this book several times then saving it for future reference. I also marked many pages for my beneficiaries just in case. Do yourself a favor and invest in this book.

Very User Friendly!
The book is well organized.I was able to use it, immediately, to answer 'basic questions' to help a relative avoid a costly mistake and, more importantly, to learn 'options' that could help.Though I am an insurance agent, I've had little exposure to the 401(k), IRA, etc., market.This book is quickly moving me to the 'top 20% group' of informed agents and financial advisors.I highly recommend it, thanks to Ed Slott!

Pay attention to the sub-title
The reviewer plugging the "MarketBuster" book has totally missed the point of this NOLO book, which is given in the subtitle: Taking Your Money Out. The reviewer is talking about strategies for growing your account.

Small Size, Huge Impact
I, too, was startled at the small black and white book that I had received for my $83.I had expected a glossy book full of wonderful illustrations.
Big price, little book...plenty of value

Did what it was supposed to do
I sold my house in San Francisco without a broker (my first house sale).The buyer actually drew up the sales contract but this book helped me understand who should pay for what fees.

Nolo's Guide to Social Security Disability
Not at all helpful if you are filling out an application for SSDI benefits.More than 3/4 of the book is on the appeal process and social security system jargon.You can tell it is written by a lawyer, its worthless.

This book is invaluable for anyone contemplating a disability claim or for anyone seeking to preserve benefits. The authors explain the elements of a claim; namely the severity of an impairment and its impact on the ability to function in a work environment or setting. The MINE claims are predefined by the law. These are "Medical Improvement Not Expected". i.e. a number of debilitating arthritic diseases or diseases of the musculo-skeletal system
A great reference book overall
This is an excellent book of the whole area of Social Security Disability benefits and how to fill the forms out completely, when to seek an attorney for appeals etc, and a rather extensive section on what the term disability means to Social Security and what diseases, conditions etc qualify and which do not.The only area lacking was disabled spousal Social Security Disability coverage, which a spouse under age 50 with no minor children must file for in the same way the working spouse who becomes disabled would have to do.I plan on donating my copy which I bought via Amazon.com to my local public library. ... Major flaw of this book are misconceptions...
Law of peoples has a major flaw: misconceptions, and this are:
An unfortunate book
First, some disclosure regarding my opinion of Rawls (may he rest in peace).I am no fan of Rawls' work, be it this work or his others.As such, my own views will no doubt influence my opinion, so keep that in mind as you read on. Perhaps a little too scholarly for the lay reader.
John Rawl's "Law of People" is divided into two parts: "The Law of Peoples" (a paper based on Rawl's article by the same name published in 1993), and "The Idea of Public Reason Revisited" (1997). Read more

Excellent self help guide on the subject

If you want to make less mistakes, save time and money, it's best to start with this book so you can get the correct service, venue, and evidence organized to file and win. I found the chapter on how to write a demand letter and settle your claim before it gets to court very helpful. They even offer sample letters you use to settle your case. Nolo Press seems to put together the best legal self help books.

Win in Small Claims Court!
If you have a claim involving $5,000 or less, you can easily and inexpensively bring an action in Small Claims Court. But even though Small Claims Court is designed for non-attorneys (in fact, attorneys are not allowed) you still must have a basic understanding of the rules of evidence and know how to put on your case. Overrated simplistic reasoning
First of all, the law and economics movement did not originate with Richard Posner.To his credit, he does reference the men who collectively formulated the modern utilitarian theory called "law and economics."Pay attention to the enormous amount of spelling errors and poor syntax in the first edition.The book seems like it was rushed to the presses in order to capitalize on something.
Good economics concepts exposed...
Although the economic theories used by Posner are for the most part sound, nevertheless, he lacks a more realistic approach to the problems presented in this book. For example, in the real world we CANNOT ignore transaction costs in all cases. Also, not all laypeople know the law as well as Mr. Posner. Overall, I do recommend reading this book, it will undoubtly stimulate your mind!

Nix On Hixson's Stories
Hixson has picked four murder cases as "highly revealing" as to "history, culture, and jurisprudence". He is mistaken in his judgments. What is the purpose of this book? Was it created as propaganda for the last case? A good history is based on reality, not the author's prejudices about "gender", "nativism", "class anxieties", or "racial injustice" (p.2). His arrogance is shown in his comments on page 3 regarding other's works. Hixson seems proud of not using footnotes, and points to his "critical bibliography".
Great book
I suggest anyone who loves crime to go out and buy this book. It gives you a good perspective of 4 great trials of american history.

Attempting to Revise History
The author is a professor of history who has written about four murder cases as a "scholarly inquiry".He claims the verdicts in all four cases were wrong!The author is wrong about Lizzie and OJ; the jury verdicts were correct.Read more
