Feeling good isnt the whole story
I agree with the other reviewers.This book definitely lives up to its title.On every page is Scripture that is positive and uplifting.But something is missing...the rest of the story. I would argue that we cannot fully appreciate or even understand the positive if we do not understand the negative.God never overlooked the negative and never made things prettier than they were. (one example...the book of Judges, especially the last three chapters.)In fact, God has often used them for His greater purpose and glory.Those "negative passages" are there for a reason.And be that reason a lesson from the past, a warning for the future, or just plain hidden in the heart of the Lord, we should not go taking scissors to the Bible just to make ourselves feel better.Had this book merely advertised itself as "uplifting snippets from the Bible" it could have been a worthwhile book.But to raise itself up to equality with the full Bible, even infer that it is better because there is nothing negative?No, my advice...buy a full Bible and get the whole perspective and the whole message and the whole posititve "feeling" from knowing that God is both wrathful and loving, the Giver of grace and judgement, ever jealous for His glory and His people.

Excellent and Basic Bible
I think this is an excellent bible.The type is just right.Many bibles have very small print or the large print edition seems too big.I looked at alot of bibles before deciding on this one.I wanted one without all the "busy" references, notes, etc.If you want a study bible, then this is not for you.
An Excellent Resource for Spititual Enhacement.
I been reading this Bible for close to eight years now and love it so much, I am purchasing two for my 2 daughters. A very nice basic Bible
I recommend this as an everyday-use Bible.Read more

Fascinating and Useful

Could have been better - a disappointment
DAZZLE by Judith Krantz
Horrible
Needless to say i couldnt finish this book.I made it part way through and had to stop.The book just seemed to turn into a bad Lifetime movie.I have only read one other of the authors books.Hopefully they get better.

not typical Krantz
I've read most of Judith Krantz's novels and this one was a disappointment. Jazz was her usual likeable main character, but too many unnecessary characters really weakened this novel. It seemed that even great-great-grandparents were brought in as characters as the story went on! The male character who seemed to be a challenging, interesting match for Jazz just disappeared halfway through the story. There were some fun and memorable moments, but Mrs. Krantz usually does a much better job than this. ... Read more

Too bad you can't leaf through the pages before you buy.
This book claims in its introduction, to be superior to other baby names because of its accuracy but clearly it it poorly edited, with names with no meanings and meanings with no names. The bulk of the book does not defineif names are masculine, feminine or unisex, and in the one section thatdoes, there are clearly feminine meanings in the male name section.Inaddition, the title of the book led me to be believe that it would be ALLAfrican names but instead, there are entire pages with no African names,but rather Eurocentric names that some African Americans have used fortheir children in the past.Worst of all is that some of the "Africannames" are not names at all.Who would name their child "Uglywoman", "evil" or after a particular "marketplace".My husband and I thought there were some nice choices forgirls names, but you really have to read carefully. ... Not Just A "Chick Book"...
Judith Krantz captures your attention from the first sentence and you are hooked. It is a well written novel with a first class intriguing story. Your mind crawls into the lives of her characters and you stay there to see the end. It is a great read. If only I had written it...

A Lovely Way to Spend an Afternoon

Someone in my famiy read Scruples and being told that I was too young to read this book and I was not to allowd to read it but curiosity and rebellious stubbernous made me want to raed it and I learned the hard way that I should have listened to the warnings because ths was one of the worst books I ever read!
