Excellent resource
This tape series is wonderful! I had a few years of high school spanish but was very rusty.I used these tapes to brush up.After listening to them over and over, I am able to speak pretty fluently with clients at work. The 2 speakers on the tape are enjoyable and professional in the way they interact.I feel like I know them personally, by now! It is nice to hear a native speaker as well as an american born person say the words and phrases.

Learning Spanish Made Fun and Easy, and most of all, Affordable
This is one of my favorite Spanish courses. I have learned lots of Spanish from it. But what's most important about this course is that Mark Frobose uses a method that not only teaches you Spanish but also helps you retain it. I recommend this course to any that is looking to learn Spanish fast but is not looking to spend lots of money to learn it.

FANTASTICO !
I have several others CD's that I do not use b/c they are boring.However, when I saw the reviews on this I decided to take a chance.It is wonderful.Head & shoulders above the others I have.Really an excellent supplement to my spanish language lessons (or it would be very fine by itself I think).

Beyond the Present Tense of Spanish and So Much More
I am not a person that has a natural ability to learn languages. I started learning Spanish eight months ago without any previous experience learning the language. I just used 3 tools that got 4 or 5 stars reviews at a popular learning Spanish product review site. 501 Spanish verbs is one of the products. The second product was the Learning Spanish Like Crazy self-study course. And the third was a Spanish word or phrase book.
Verbs rule!
We all know a million Spanish words. But if you can't conjugate a verb, you can't talk. I know tons of Spanish but I wasn't able to communicate well until I picked up this essential text. If there is one book for learning Spanish that you need, this is it. Verbs are the absolute core of the language, and since Spanish has no declensions as in Russian or German, you are going to learn the language a lot faster if you refer often to this reference. ... FUN
I have just completed all three levels of the Pimsleur course and for me it was fun and I learned alot of Spanish. I think one of the main things when you are trying to learn a language is that whatever learning method you chose doesn't discourage you and the Pimsleur course kept my interest and made it fun and easy enough so that I continued and progressed. What good is a course if you become so discouraged, bored, or iritated with it that you give up? Most of the others are like that. I have listened to other CD series and in my opinion, Pimlseur is the best. The others invariably talk too fast, use words and phrases they haven't previously introduced, or just end up being a string of phrases or vocabulary with no context or story-line. I heartily recommend Pimsleur I,II, and III.

Bookchips are better
Bookchip version is better and easier to use, ( 3 bookchips compared to 52 cds) I bought bookchips and cds, send cds back. Buy Bookchip (Audiofy Bookchip) instead.

110 enjoyable lessons but "Hablo espanol solo un poco"
Plus I don't spell Spanish worth a diddle. Is it "kero" or "quiero"?

Excellent book for new arrivals
I purchased this book for a new Mexican friend, who recently moved to the U.S. for two years and speaks practically no English, while I know a smattering of Spanish. We've found it to be invaluable in helping us communicate. When it's obvious that she isn't understanding me, I can turn to the appropriate page--the kitchen, for example--and point to the picture, and she can do the same. Then we work on her pronunciation of the English word. I will probably purchase another one for myself to help me strengthen my Spanish skills. I would also consider the other language titles to correspond with those my sons are studying in school. The format is user-friendly, the color illustrations are happy, and the categories of words are vast and extremely practical--especially helpful to someone struggling to get by in a new country. My friend showed the book to her ESL teacher and was very proud when the instructor recommended the book to the rest of the class!

Great picture dictionary
What makes this dictionary so great is that it is not in alphabetical order and it is based on themes.For example, there is a classroom theme on a page and all of the words that have to do with what is in a classroom.Also, I like the fact that their are numbers next to the object and then all of the words in Spanish and English are at the bottom half of the page.This allows you to cover up all of the words and quiz yourself.

If you want to learn Spanish this is the book
The tapes and book are fantastic.I listen to them in the car over and over again.I think I am actually 'getting' to know Spanish.A must to buy--I spend about 1-2 hours a week--so I don't spend 10 minutes a day--sometimes 30 minutes and then 2-3 days later 15-20--it works though.

What a great product
I have tried other spanish learning tapes.I have also attended Spanish classes with a regular Spanish instructor that teaches in high schoool (Spanish 1 - 4 ).I didn't learn Spanish until I obtained the book and tapes.Because I travel so much in my job I have a great opprotunity to be able to listen to the tapes. The book - tape combination is awesome and now I feel confident. What I have learned is sticking with me and I now feel like I can communicate in Spanish.The sticky labels that come with the book are also great.It's a package well put together.I am mid way through tape two ( two of six ) and am surprised at how much I can already say and understand. What an easy way to learn....

I've found the CD's enjoyable as I listen and learn on my commute to and from work each day.Each CD sytematically expands your vocabulary by providing you plenty of practice.I listen to each CD a few times until I'm pretty comfortable with it before proceeding to the next one.It's been great. ... Excellent!! Reference Book
Excellent reference book for independent learners and learners taking s Sapanish course . In my opinion, it will help with increasing one's understanding of, "how to say (or want to say) in Spanish" and "what you said {or want(ed) to convey} from your thoughts in English" and how to say it.

spanish lesson book
This is a difficult book forbeginner-levelspanish language students.I kept it b/c I understand that it is one they use at the immersion course I will be taking soon in Mexico.

Terrible for Beginners (No me gusta)
If you have a choice, do not buy this book.If you must buy it for your class, seriously consider taking a different Spanish class that doesn't use this book.
A LONG WAIT FOR PRODUCT
I ordered this product on the 3rd of August via expedited (2 day)shipping and it did not get here until the 13th of August!!Class started here on the 15th. The product itself was as it stated, so I can not complain about that.I would not use this shipper unless you have plenty of time to wait.

I was looking for a student workbook for practice in spanish.I ordered this book because it was listed as "like new",it took me almost three weeks to get it and when I did I found the worksheets for the first five chapters were cut out.I am now approaching my first term exam for those same chapters and have no book to review. ... Very Good!Needs Sentence Building Though!
Here I sit, surrounded by language courses.
Good but Lacking in Conversational Practice
I have been using the course for two years now and I can say that I have learnt loads more Spanish than I did for several years in high school. One important tip - the best results are obtained from copying the disks to a portable player (IPod or something similar) and using them while you're walking, on an airplane flight or something similar. The abiliy to pause the recordings, where you need more time to respond, or to rewind or restart a section, where you need to revise individual parts of a lesson, is crucial to getting the most out of the course (or any similar audio course for that matter).

Probably the Best Course for the Absolute Beginner, Perhaps not for the LSLC Student
I recentlystarted Pimsleur Spanish after reading the numerous Amazon reviews praising Pimsleur Spanish, not only in the Amazon review section for Pimsleur Spanish but also in the Amazon review section for Learning Spanish Like Crazy that compared the two products. Though I must admit that the Pimsleur method is a great method to learn basic Spanish I did not learn much from it because I had already completed the first level of Learning Spanish Like Crazy before doing Pimsleur. Someone that has already done the first level of LSLC, will not find Pimsleur challenging enough because LSLC coversmore Spanish by teaching more verbs and more verb tenses.
Excruciatingly repetitious and boring...
I bought these cd's for my 3 daughters(ages 11, 8 and 7)who I am trying to teach spanish.I used some great cd's to learn the basics while driving my car to work and back and we have a 15 min drive to and from school each day so I though these would be perfect.Three trips later and my children are already begging me to not make them listen to the cd's. The man's voice is especially annoying and makes my 8 yr old cover her ears and beg me to please shut it off. I am sure that if you listen to the cd's you might learn spanish, if you can keep awake.But they are definately not good for children.I remember the cd's that I had, years ago, were much more lively.I wish that I had them now.

Some Colleges Require this Book
I hate that my son's college is requiring this book along with the Workbook, Answer Key, Dictionary and CD Pkg only read negative reviews.I wonder why the schools would require this expensive and apparently useless package?
Not recommended
This textbook makes it very hard to learn the vocabulary because they do not define the words they use.Many of the directions for the exercises are confusing.The culture sections are decent and contain contemporary pop culture.I find the textbook to be of very little value.

Not easy to use
I had a very bad experience with this textbook in my Spanish class at school. While it is very easy to do well on the accompanying tests, it is also easy to escape without learning very much Spanish at all. The main drawback is that the book uses much of its vocabulary without ever having officially introduced it. Then, when you go look words up in the back to find out what they mean, they aren't there! Further, although topics are introduced in logical order, they are not organized in the chapters in a standard format. This makes it difficult to locate a previous concept if you wish to review it.

no regrets, but far from completely satisfied
Although I have no regrets about using Pimsleur Spanish II, I am not 100% satisfied. After finishing the Pimsleur series I have learned some Spanish but I don't think that I have learned as much Spanish as I thought that I would have learned. As a couple of reviewers already pointed out, Pimsleur does not cover as much Spanish as the FSI Spanish method (but I paid several times more).

Best text on the market for Spanish Instruction
I teach college Spanish and I love this text.It is thoughtfully constructed and provides numerous activities for communication in the target language.Dos mundos also provides very useful ideas for instructors.The pages are colorful and the content engaging.My students love all the activities I use from this text.I wish more Spanish instructors would embrace the methodology presented in Dos mundos.My level one Spanish students actually speak Spanish (albeit low-level Spanish).I don't know if I would recommend this text for independent study, however.I believe it would be most effective if used in conjunction with a dynamic instructor.I do agree that the authors should include a separate English-Spanish dictionary section. I also find the video segments to be very poor (and why are they exactly the same as the ones for Puntos de partida when they both have such different approaches to language acquisition?)

this is not a bad spanish book. i don't know if i would say it is great. lots of group activities that are helpful, but they are pretty simple and repetitive.they need to be a little more thoughtful and put in lots of DIFFERENT activities.one last, quite frustrating thing, there is only a spanish-english dictionary in the back.extremely irritating because this is a spanish 1-2 book, and anytime you want to look up a word, you'll need to consult another dictionary. ... I have been teaching with this book for 2 years and the more familiar I am with it the less I like it and the more mistakes I find on it.It was not chosen by me and I hope we'll change it soon. The textbook and workbook have plenty of mistakes even though it is a second edition.

Spanish in 10 Minutes a Day
This text is either for the very beginning beginner or a good review for the person who has been away from Spanish for a time.
A good Start
I have read almost all of the book. Along with the CDs I think the set would be very good for a beginner but not enough for adequate conversation. No conjugation rules mentioned. You have to be enrolled in a spanish teaching class to fill in the defecits that this set have. Overall I think my spanish improved alot from 0% spanish to 50% now,which is not bad to a beginner....

Wonderful Product
We are a homeschooling family and we were looking for a good beginning Spanish program.This program was recommended to me by several people so I thought we would give it a try.My daughter and I are learning together and we are finding this program easy to use and alot of fun.I think it would be a great program for older elementary (my daughter is 14) - adult.The CDs are a must because they teach you the correct pronouncation for each word.The stickers are a great way to incorporate Spanish into your everyday life. I hate this book

This is the same book used by our public school district.We are in one of the leading districts in the nation.The only negative I have is the price.I found it new at Walmart>Books>Textbooks for a lower price.Even they are higher than the publisher's price.Buy it here if you have confidence in your seller.I won't!

Fast and easy, a great way to learn!

Fabulous Book but Better with Behind the Wheel English
William Harvey's 'Ingles Para Latinos' is a classic which is loved by Spanish speakers for its ease of use, pronunciation guides and easy to learn practical basics presented in a non threatening and friendly manner.

I'm using Destinos in a telecourse, and am having lots of fun with it, and even learning some Spanish.My listening skills have improved dramatically, since the video is the main learning tool, which forces one to sharpen up and really listen to what's going on.The workbook that accompanies Destinos is really detailed, making it possible to learn a considerable amount of Spanish grammar on one's own.Overall, the best Spanish textbook I've used yet!�Adi�

If you already know a bit of both...
... this dictionary of English and Spanish words is a good one to have. It's small, can be carried with you, and is great for quick look ups when you are stuck on a word. If you don't know a bit of Spanish already, though, you really won't benefit from the book all that much.

This is just a very basic Spanish-English dictionary.It will help with simple things, but there are much better dictionaries available.
