The book is very comprehensive and gives a very accurate picture of what to expect on your plumbing exam. It makes learning the code fun and you will find out what you don't know quickly. Use it in conjuction with your code book to look up areas you are weak in. If you can answer eighty percent of the questions in the "Study Guide" correctly you will probably pass your test. A great book for learning Physics
I took AP Physics B in my Senior year at high school and had a HORRIBLE teacher. BY the time the AP exam was a month away, we had only learned about 30% of what we should have known for the exam because of our incompetent teacher.
Not AP material
If you are taking Physics B, buy a Physics B book. If you are taking the C test, buy a C book. But please, don't rely on this book to study. This book does not qualify as a study guide. The questions are way too easy compared with actual AP questions, and though the explanations are clear, the material does not go deep enough into the subject. Especially the section on Fluids. The B test goes A LOT more into detail.
Good review
My AP Physics teacher recommended this book to our class and he ended up having around an 80% pass rate. This is a great review book. The diagrams and problems help you out a lot. I ended up with a three, and if I hadn't just had the AP Bio test 20 minutes before, I probably would have gotten a 4. This book is great at condensing an issue that you want to review. ... Worked great for me!
This was the only book I used to review/practice for the NCLEX-RN.I just took it Sept 2006 and passed.I have the 2005-2006 version of this book.I thought the first half was really helpful on question type analysis and answer choice strategies.I did not think this was common sense and I wished I had read it earlier in my nursing program, it would have made a difference when we started getting "application" questions.The second half of the book was also helpful for review and practice.I learned to read the question once or twice, read and eliminate answers, then choose one instead of obsessing or overthinking as I have done in the past.I know there is some luck involved in passing the NCLEX - apparently some people are unfortunate enough to be randomly selected to receive 265 questions, while others are unlucky to get a lot of questions on an area with which they are uncomfortable - as well as some luck in surviving nursing school itself (what a bizarre culture, like trying to get into a sorority at times), and I was lucky to get a minimum number of general questions.However, I waited 3 months exactly (2 is recommended) to take the test and did very little study/review.This was the only book I used for a few weeks before the test.Risky, but it worked - I would highly recommend this book.I think Kaplan did a fantastic job.Good luck to all!
This book helped me pass!
I thought this book was great.I needed a book to help me mentally prepare for the test and to give me test taking tips.I didn't need to review content, that's what nursing school is for!So, this book was perfect.When I came across a question that I wasn't sure of, I thought back to the tips in this book to help me answer the question.Very helpful!

SAVE your $$$ on a better book
I was able to get through this book in only 2 days!! This entire book offers the reader ONLY strategies and no review of content. For some of you, this is what you are looking for, BUT the strategies they offer are all common sense. I have confidence that, if you were able to graduate from nursing school (ADN/BSN), you have ALREADY mastered the techniques they have to offer.

Incredible Resource
This book is priceless in my eyes.It has earned its price countless number of times.This book includes everything from Psychoeducation handouts, treatment plan information, assessment, administrative paperwork and much more.I have used this book on a daily basis in my clinical practice and continue to referto it regularly.The amount of work put into this book is enormous and I appreciate every bit of it.Thank you Sharon and i look forward to more workbooks, etc.Im sure anything you create will be magnificent.

I have already recommended this book to many of my colleagues. It covers so many topics and provides practical, useful information for psychoeducation and treatment options. I don't know what I would do without it. I would love to see workbooks and printouts by this author.

Kaplan is Horrible!
I got the book.Signed up for the website.Then didn't have time to study for a while because of work.When I finally had time to use the book and study, my internet access (where a lot of important suppliments are) was cut off because it was passed the assumed amount of time.I tried getting it restored, but Kaplan was no help.
Not 800, but not bad
GMAT 800 is a very popular book. Whoever at Kaplan came up with the name ought to get a raise and an immediate promotion to the head of the marketing department. Everybody wants an 800, and we'd all like to think that working really hard through the materials in one book will get us there.
Good overview after you have completed all other preperation books
I think this book gives a good overview of the main concepts.This book needs to be completed after you have other GMAT materials, e.g. Kaplat GMAT guide, the Official GMAT Review.The quantitative section covers many of the questions that are very similar to the ones you see in the actual GMAT.These tough questions in quant really helps.The quant questions in the actual GMAT are much harder than the practice questions in official review.However this book covers many of the tougher questions. ... Buy this for the real exams
Since this book is published by the makers of the PPST, anyone taking this test needs to buy this book simply because it contains an actual old exam. I found that this exam was very similar to the actual PPST I took, and my score on the practice exam was a good indicator of my score on the real exam. However, this book is not good if you need a thorough review of the material. It skims over things and does not go into too much detail. I needed a lot of math review and this book did not help too much with that. I also bought the Barron's book and thought that one was great for the review but mediocre on the practice tests (that one did have 3 though and this book only has one, but it is an actual old exam). So if you are taking the PPSTdefinitely buy this book but also buy a good one for a review. For that I would recommend Barrons. I got a 186 on the math and 184 on the reading and am still waiting for the writing. I owe my good scores to these two books.

Praxis I Study Guide
This was a valueable resource for anyone who is self-studying for the PRAXIS exam.

THE study guide
If you are going to take the PPST and you want to purchase a study guide to prepare, this is THE one to get. The fact that it is produced by the people that make the exams is evident throughout. Explanations are thorough and concise. The practice exams are very helpful and build testing confidence. The sample essay questions are a fantasic bonus. Core Knowledge Study Guide:Special Education
I have purchased similar study guides previously and they have turned out to be useful.The format of this book is very easy to follow and understandable.I am scheduled to take a test in September but I'm sure that we this study guide material I won't have any troubles passing the exam.

Good Overview but Skinny
I didn't expect this book to be so skinny.It does give a good overview of what to study for.It's pretty much just lists topics. If you need freshening on topics then you need to pull out the text books.

ETS is NOT giving up the goods...
This book was useful to me ONLY because of the one practice test that is included. I used the practice test to familiarize myself with the types of questions that would be asked on the test, being as this was an actual old praxis exam. The information that this guide contained on the subjects that would be tested can be found for free at the ETS-Praxis website. I found the best way to prepare for this exam was to answer as many practice questions that I could find, and then research the answers for the questions that I got wrong. I also used questions from both XAM special education study guides, the one for the cali test and the one for the praxis test. I passed both parts of the Praxis for certification in MD. ... Good explanation of a confusing subject
The book gives a good acccount of the various Islamic militant factions and their interactions. The opinions seemed a bit "armchair general" and opinionated at times, but they made several good points. I'd recommend the book although it had the following drawbacks for me:
PLACE IT IN A ZIPLOCK BAG AND PUT IT IN YOUR RUCKSACK!
First off, all John Poole's books should be read by the Secretary of Defense on down to the grunt in the field and more military outfits should go through his course. [...] Secondly, this particular book and his previous work Tactics of the Crescent Moon: Militant Muslim Combat Tactics should be MANDATORY READING for every soldier, sailor, airman, or Marine deploying to Iraq or Afghanistan. If you're headed that way buy these books! Put them in a ziplock bag and place them in your rucksack. If you have a loved one who's deploying to these theaters of operation and they don't know about these books buy them these books! These books may very well save their lives!

The usual stupidity in high places
Pooles's books reminds me of "the Game Of Nations" by M. Copeland, which was published almost 50 years ago. In it Copeland quotes Nasser, the dictator of Egypt, as saying that originally he thought that US foreign policy was very subtle and devious, then he realized that it was simply very stupid.

Quick delivery and very indepth book...
I was suppose to get this book anywhere between the 11th - 14th, but I got it on the 10th of that month! I got it earlier than I thought. This being early pleased me very much, but when I opened the box to get the book out I was even more impressed by the size of the book. Even further I was flipping through this book and again, I was impressed by the indepth topics. I like it very much. Although this book is not for me but instead for my mother. She is 46 and I am in my Senior year in high school. She wanted to get her GED before I left so that she would have a chance to do it. So I got on Amazon and boom! I had a good book for my mom, we start her lessons next week! LOL I get to be TEACHER!

A great help for a low price!
A great help for a low price! Two of my family members used this book (don't worry, each got their own copy - they're starting college this fall!) to brush up before taking and PASSING their GED tests. Mission accomplished! The format is easy to follow and the information is just what you need. It emphasizes finding your weaknesses so you can strengthen them. I recommend it for homeschoolers needing a great way to prove they have a high school education and anyone needing to finish their high school education.

A good FINAL Review of your knowledge
I found this book benificial for me since it gave me quite good idea on my TOEFL score. It coantains 5 actual tests and 1 extra test that coantain a sealed questtions and ansewr sheet the same way on the paper based test. Excellent for Paper based but only Good for the Computer Based test. Though this prep kit dont give any further explanation on Eng so u should have a good knowledge of english before using this guide, since it only help you know what to expect on the test.

Wonderful Review essential in passing EIT, but I have a bone to pick
I bought this in 1992 for the State of Washington EIT test at the price of $43. How the hell is this now $134 and it's the same damn edition, not to mention the print quality doesn't merit such a hefty pricetag? [read: it was recycled paper with crappy fonts]

Excellent resource!
I bought this after working for the federal government for 20 years!I was looking for a position after the agency I work for within the Department of Defense was BRAC'd.I needed some serious help in the KSA writing department.This book helped me tremendously.I breezed through the KSAs after reading what government managers are looking for in an applicant's KSA.Well worth the money.Oh, and I did get the job!

Federal Resume Guidebook
I have this book as well as Ten Steps to a Federal Job.What a lifesaver.Who knew all the detail needed to get a federal job!These books are easy to digest, easy to follow, then they become a resource that I have used repeatedly.These books will take the fear out of the application process.In addition, a time saver is the "free" access to templates to help build the necessary documents. I used the template, and had a problem (turned out to be AOL as the problem).At 8am I wrote an email using the "contact us" tab on the web site the templates are located on.With-in fifteen minutes, the author herself (Kathryn K. Troutman) emailed me back and stayed with me until the issue was resolved.A short time later a technical support person contacted me by phone to make sure things were resolved.If that was not lightning fast, I do not know what is.A person whom I did not know recommended these books to me, now I am telling everyone I know (and don't know) about them!

Good exam preparation support!
I used this book in addition to RedHat's instructor led training, and managed to pass the test on my first try with a score of over 90%!

A great book for the RHEL 3 exam
Having been in a management position for a while I was a bit rusty and felt I didn't have the current hands on experience required to sit this exam directly.I used this book as prep for the 4 day Red Hat Boot camp leading up to the RHCE exam.It covered the topics required for the exam quite well, despite some obvious typos (Whatever you read, you should read critically anyway. IMHO)
Great Exam Prep
I wish I could say I had finished the book and passed the RHCE, but I am still a month or two away. Still, I have advanced my Linux knowledge significantly and am having a blast. Of the 6 or so Linux books I own, this is the best and should have been the first. Very good in some aspects but yet very bad in others
First off, this book offers one of the most wide ranged practice tests available for the SAT. This extensive amount of practice allows for a user to sufficiently prepare for the SAT; however, what makes this book so bad is that most of the tests that are given are hold KAPLAN tests. If u have bought 2005 or 2006 SAT Books from KAPLAN ud find the exact same problems and tests. Although most of the tests are the ame, the overall review for english and math is by far one of the best out there next to Princeton Review and Barrons. I recommend this book if u have never purchased a KAPLAN SAT book before or just 1, but if you have purchased a recent SAT book by KAPLAN i would ABSOLUTELY not recommend this book unless you want some of the same practice tests ... If you are getting ready to take the AP PSYC exam you need to get this book. It contains quizzes on each section of psychology and two practice full length tests at the end. It also has very helpful tips for writing essays. I took the AP exam in the spring of 2005 and got a '5'. I am now a freshman neuroscience major at the University of Delaware (one of the best schools for psychology and neuroscience) and have passed both of my two psychology classes with A's (the highest grade). great book, buy it!
honestly, i didn't pay any attention at all in my ap euro class. but a month before the test, realizing i didn't know anything, i bought this. though it doesn't cover all the facts in enough detail, if you know this book you can still pull off a 5, and who can remember all the details anyway? the practice tests are easily the best availible too. and trust me, if i can scrape a 5 with this book, so can you!

Good preparation books
I used three books to prepare for both Hardware and OS certification exams - this set and A+ Complete Study Guide, Third Edition (220-301 and 220-302) by David Groth.
Book Too Big
This book is gigantic. It's full of "in between" information and is not suitable for an IT grad or someone with experience. The A+ is not a professional exam, its an entry level exam. I recommend the fast pass or something written by Mike Meyers.

Great Book! - Good True-to-Life Questions!
This is a great book set. I havn't finished it yet, and from what I've read in the questions they do infact cover a good amount of the actual test content. Of course, not word-for-word but subject-wise, a lot of the questions are similar. While a lot of the content dealing with the A+ test is basicially garbage since computing today doesn't require knowledge of the IRQ of a floppy drive. In my opinion, this "Garbage Content" is a bad reflection upon CompTIA.
