3-0 out of 5 stars You could do better
This book is well-written and has a lot of pertinent information inside, but I feel like I wasted my money buying this book.I have never really used it when preparing for the exam; instead, I have been using my undergraduate textbooks which are far more uselful in preparing for the exam.So only buy this book if you have sold back your undergrad books or if they were horribly written.

5-0 out of 5 stars Licensure PE Review
When I checked the entire book, I noticed that this is a good one to review for your Licensure Professional Engineering examination. It was a good choice but until now I haven't had a chance to register to take the California Professional Engineer Licensure exam.

3-0 out of 5 stars An adequate option
This study guide is ok, but not great. Because it was published in 2003, and probably written in 2002, I think that some of the information is outdated. A list of study topics are provided but not the information that goes with the topic. The practice test is ok but there were a few answers I did not agree with. (and this could be due to newer research than the book has) I would have liked a second practice test.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE ULTIMATE US REVIEW
Thanks to this review book, I ended up with a 5! Our AP teacher called this "the review bible" and used this book constantly in class. It's even good for class tests! My friend was failing those until she started reviewing with this book...and her grade improved significantly. The best part of this book is the tests. They ask questions that are definetly comparable to AP level questions, and the best thing is to ALWAYS read the section that explains to you why you are right or wrong on a question. The sample essays are also very helpful. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Nearly perfect, and surely the best prepguidethere is available
I've used two preparation guides, this one and the one from Sybex. MSPress is definitely the best of these two books. Covers it all, the sybex version is too superficial and just does not cover it all, it actually lacks some important material.
4-0 out of 5 stars Best Comprehensive Book Available but not without faults
I used this book as a primary study guide for the 2003 upgrade exams and although it doesn't cover all the material, it is an excellent book and in my humble opinion the single best source of prepartion.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good book
This book covers the essentials skills to upgrade to your certification to Windows Server 2003.However, it does cover many topics that you already knew from your Windows 2000 experience, which sometimes are topics you don't want to read about because for the most part, you expected to read only about the improvements and changes from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003.In spite of this, it is a GREAT source of information for people with little experience with Windows 2000. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Preparing for the Test
I found this book to be extremely helpful in preparing myself to take the Praxis test for certification as a principal. The only thing I did not like about the book was the fact that it is for 3 separate tests. The parts that applied specifically to me were very helpful, but there was so much extraneous information regarding the other tests in the book.I would much rather have had additional practice items for the test I was taking rather than the many chapters that were a waste to me.I passed the test, though, so I believe it accomplished what it was to accomplish ie. making me feel a lot less apprehensive about the test. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars I'd recommend it...
It is near impossible to find actual study material for Dantes exams (from the fact sheets)- but at least these practice exams allow you to get a feel for what subject matter will most likely be on the test.I found the Here's to Your Health practice exams helpful & gave me the answers to a lot of questions I did not know, as well as suggesting what areas I may want to review.I passed the exam with flying colors.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not accurate to Test as of August 2006
I took this test August of 2006, and studied this book for a few hours. This book is basically a huge list of sample Q's and A's (hopefully their answers are correct!)
3-0 out of 5 stars Here is to your Health Study Guide
Make sure you are getting the Study Guide not the Q&A.Fortunately I got the study guide, but some of my classmates got the Q&A which is useless.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent resource...
After reading through zillions of homeschool books and websites-this book finally gave me what I feel is a great base to start from and recommends some other great books that I cannot wait to get.
5-0 out of 5 stars This book changed my life
As a SAHM with 8 children (college sophomore down to 2 yrs), I'd considered homeschooling now and again. I'd never felt compelled to actually begin homeschooling, however, until now.One of my children had to withdraw from public school (health issues), and thus began my real search for an appropriate curriculum.I read a number of books detailing different philosophies, but this was the first one that when I read it, I felt that I couldn't possibly send my children back to public school.
5-0 out of 5 stars great reference

5-0 out of 5 stars Beware of powerscore
A must have for the Lsat. If your thinking of buying the powerscore books. be wary, they will skew every practice test you take because they use real lsat questions from the very practice tests you must take to be ready for the test.My advice is to use the powerscore techniques but avoid answering any of the lsat questions in the books so you can evaluate yourself properly with the official lsat preptests.

5-0 out of 5 stars LSAT Preparation - #2 most important set of tests you'll buy
If you only take 10 PrepTests before the real LSAT, these shouldn't be the tests you take.Get the newest tests you can beginning with PrepTest 39.They aren't yet sold in a book, so you'll be buying individual test booklets. If you have time to finish all of those then add this book.
4-0 out of 5 stars Essential to Preparation
The book contains the newest tests released and is a definite necessity to studying for the LSAT.Although it does not contain answer explanations, it is great practice to take as many of these as possible before the real thing.I used them in addition to a more in-depth studying tool and found that together I had great preparation and was totally relaxed and ready on test day. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars JUST TOOK THE SPHR IS JUNE 2006
I just took the SPHR June 30, 2006 and used this book, along with other text books to study for the exam.I highly recommend this book for the exam.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Resource!
This was a great supplemental resource to SHRM's other study materials. It is well written and a quick read.I really appreciated the "test alerts" to point out specific areas that are often covered in HRCI's certification exam.Having successfully passed the exam, I can say that this book was well worth the investment to help prepare for it.I would not, however, use it as your only resource to prepare for the exam, but as a good summarizing resource! It will also make a great resource for me to refer to in my job.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book delivers!
I spent 2 hours a day (22 days total) summarizing this book and 3 hours a day for 5 days reviewing my notes and easily passed the SPHR. This is a well-organized,well-written, and comprehensive study/reference guide for the HR professional. This book and my 12 years of HR experience ensured I didn't need any other study guides (I bought the PHR/SPHR Professional in HR Certification Study Guide, but it was poorly organized and WAY too wordy, so I only used it for the practice tests/questions).I also wish I'd saved my money on the HRCI assessment test.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good book, but be cautious of the directives and recommendations
This is a fairly comprehensive book on how to start a consulting business.I followed the steps outlined in the book to start my own business, but some of the recommendations Mr. Weiss makes go a little overboard. For instance, do you really need a copy machine?Do you really need a postage meter?Spending money on these things will burn through your start-up funds quickly!
1-0 out of 5 stars ~~Boring~~
The content of this book is only common sense steps... and targeted for completely disorganized people. For those using their brain before acting, do not buy this book: you won't find any secret, nor precious tips. But if you're a teen and wonder how to start a consulting business in the future: it could be a good investment. I bought the ebook edition, at least I didn't waste paper... Alan Weiss should learn more Japanese, because the word "sogomi" (at page 8!) doesn't exist. This mistake gives you the level of this book.

2-0 out of 5 stars I don't understand why this is a highly rated book
I didn't like the book. It doesn't have much to do with consulting. It is teaching about how to sell, how to register a company and similar pretty common stuff.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent information
The more I dive into the MCSE path the more I relize there is not one book that covers everything you need to know for the exam. This book does an excellent job of explaining the topics that it covers. That said it covers about 85% of what you need to know.Nearly 50% of the test was on RRAS.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dreadful Book - Avoid
I haven't taken the exam yet, so I can't comment on the appropriatness of the book to the exam, but my biggest gripe is the ridiculous number of errors in this book. Even with the official list of errata at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;830785, I've lost count of the number of additional errors. If you do the exercises and think "why isn't this working?", you've hit yet another error. My advice: demand a refund immediately.

4-0 out of 5 stars Yeah, it's good
I have no other book to compare it to, but it helps me review for my AP Government class tests. I sometimes wish it had more multiple test questions to offer, but overall the information is well classified and it goes into decent detail on every topic. The sample essays are very helpful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Barron's Is God
Barron's has its shortcomings, sure.I'd still give it five stars, because I earned a 4 on the exam after speed-reading the majority of its contents in a single sitting having not taken a class.I will say this much: the answers to the questions on the exam are in this book; the trick is remembering them! Had I studied more rigorously (i.e., for a week), I am sure I would have earned a five.
2-0 out of 5 stars A American Government Book......not a book on AP Government preparation guide
I strongly discourage the purchase or use of this book.

2-0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK IS A WASTE OF TREES!!!
This book did not help me at all...the content was ok but the strategies sucked and I ended up getting a 2 on the exam. It just gave 2 pages for strategies and it did not have practice questions at the end of each chapter like other books do. Use 5 steps to a 5 (a quarter of the book is about strategies), my friends used it and they said it was soo helpful. Also, this book says 06-07 version but it has been the same for 3 years (i saw the 2003 book in the library). Please take my advice and dont buy this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars REALLY GOOD review book!!
It's REALLY GOOD!!! I got a 4 on the AP U.S. Gov't & Politics exam!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Extremely Helpful and Concise
Unlike Princeton Review's other test prep books where they constanly stuff your mouth with the 'latest' test taking techniques to help you score higher on the tests, Princeton Review does an amazing thing: they filled the book with CONTENT!!!The book is organized according to how college board organizes the information.Near the beginning of the topics (like Constitutional Underpinnings, Public Policy, Civil Rights, etc.), Princeton Review places a list of important terms.I made a terms worksheet and filled it in as I went - extremely helpful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Anesthesiology Review (Anesthesiology Review)
excellent book.read it when I was bored one day.wish i'd used it earlier when on the ICU rotations.probably would've become an anesthesiologist if I'd had it in med school.one dreams of writing a chapter in that book someday...
5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic for all specialties
This is one of those books that can be appreciated by almost every clinician. Dr. Faust has done a fantastic job of applying basic science principals to practice. After being away from the classrooms of medical school for awhile, one tends to become myopic and reliant upon specialty-specific pricipals. This book book helps dust off those cryptic vaults within the cerebrum and can really get the acetylcholine flowing.
5-0 out of 5 stars One for the coffee table
I don't normally put my medical textbooks out for display, but I like to use this one as a conversation piece. Each chapter is well reasoned, concise, and suprisingly entertaining. The chapter entitled "Pharmacology of Hetastarch and Pentastarch" had me weeping. Med students - this book will help you fly through boards. Lay people - this book is a suprisingly good read. You know, I don't know this "Ron Faust," but I'm sure we would be instant friends if we ever met.I'd love to share a bottle of courvasier in front of a warm fire and discuss the finer points of anesthesiology with this man.My wife is sick of me talking about him. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Going Back to College...
I'm 35 and studying for a COMPASS test (college entrance exam for those who never took the ACT/SAT).I failed Algebra in High School, skipped classes alot, and remembered absolutely nothing, but I have a good head for numbers and logic, so I've found myself able to understand most of the concepts in this book so far.If you have no head for numbers, or feel that you aren't good with logic problems/eyeballing math questions, then you may want to also purchase the "Algebra For Dummies", as this book only *briefly* goes into each concept.
5-0 out of 5 stars Algebra for Dummies Workbook
I have gone back to college after 20 years and need to take a College Algebra course. This workbook has been very helpful in reviewing things I went over a very long time ago and making sense out of them.I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than college textbooks
The author wrote this book assuming that non-financial people need to understand accounting, making this easy to read and understandable. Having gone through a college course on accounting, and being forced to use three other books (which were also worthless), I only wished I read this book first. Although it's designed for not-for-profit organizations, it explains the differences with for-profit organizations, and explains why certain things can be done, or can't be done. For anyone who is starting fresh, starting a new company, or planning on taking accounting in college, I would strongly recommend you invest $30 (my accounting textbook was over $100) and the first chapter alone, summarizes the the first 10 chapters of several college textbooks.

2-0 out of 5 stars small non-profit organization treasurer
This book is not for bookkeepers. It is more for accountants who want to understand non-profit accounting. If a bookkeeper needs to know the proper day to day and month to month entries for this kind of organization, than this book is not for you.
2-0 out of 5 stars Soporific and Overly Wordy.
Reads like a law textbook. Author often uses three sentences where one would do. Much ink is wasted telling the reader "we won't go into that here, but Chapter "X" deals exclusively with that." Concepts are understandable for those with an accounting background, but definitely would not recommend to someone without a solid grasp of accounting fundamentals. Author should have hired a writer to help him smooth out his writing style. Not recommended. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Review Book for step 1
This is, hands down, the best review book for step 1.It is not wordy. There is not a lot of fluff. You can probably read the entire book in just a few days with good retention.Works well in combination with First Aid for boards.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best of the BRS series
There are only two great BRS review books. This (physiology) and the behavioral BRS are well organized, concise, and complete.
