5-0 out of 5 stars You'll Never Be at a Loss for Words Again!
Out of seven word power cassettes I bought, this audio book is the best. It starts off elementary level and quickly goes to collegiate level. I was astounded by the way the book is organized. The material is presented in such a way you WILL learn it. Since the words you use say a lot about who you are and where you're headed, I fully recommend this book!1-0 out of 5 stars elementary, boring, unorganized, not worth buying
Of all the vocabulary building audio cassettes that I bought, Kaplan WordPower is absolutely the worst. It not only is unorganized, but it alsoassumes that you have a junior high level education. The first 15 minute ofthis 60 minute cassette is wasted on a boring outline of the rest of thecassette material. I couldn't believe that I actually listened to theentire tape filled with crap such as "Do you know what prefix andsuffix are?" "Do you know good methods to memorizing newwords?" "Do you know that many words have multiplemeanings?" After 5 minutes listening to the tape, you will alsorealized that this cassette is 100% trash.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Truth shall set you free
I was introduced to the teachings of Gangaji by an amazing friend and teacher named Dolano, who gives satsang in India. These "teachings" (in fact, they are not teachings but the pure essential truth of who one is, of what is always present, whole and complete, never needing any support)changed my life, and if somehow you are compelled by an inner longing to know Truth, then I urge you to get these tapes.Hearing Gangaji speak, or seeing her on video (or better yet, in person)is absolutely beautiful. She speaks clearly, compassionately, simply: self to self.I cannot recommend this material enough.Buy this! And for more information on Gangaji and Dolano, write www.gangaji.org, and www.dolano.com.Also Rani at www.ranimu.com is wonderful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple, Profound, Important Gift of the East
Gangaji is a great teacher of the Eastern wisdom of Papaji. What she has to say is so simple, in order to understand we have to turn off our understanding. She has reached many with the message of Truth on TV, in person, and on these cassettes. The knowledge of who you are becomes clear when the programming, the self-orchestrated purgatories, the illusions stop, and in the void comes all that there is.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Difficult to learn
This set is no different than most language courses. It starts out with pronounciations of the alphabets; however, some of these alphabets there were pronounced on CD are not on the list. Another thing is that the conversations of each chapter is so short and fast. I don't think this is intended for someone has not a clue about Spanish. I do pick up phrases and vocabularies here and there through out the chapters, but the layout is so incoherent it's hard to feel confident. I would suggest that you go pick up a REAL true beginner's Spanish book that slowly teaches you from the basics and simple sentence structures. And then you can tackle this intermidiate-advanced Latin Spanish course.

4-0 out of 5 stars Variants must be considered
This is a good course in general, I agree. The story at the end of a chapter makes it more interesting. My students like it. I am a Costarican and teach our language to foreigners for holidays and business. I find that I have to complement this course with quite a lot in the way of local expressions and cultural information applicable to Costa Rica. This course appears to have Mexico in mind mainly, but there are other countries in Central America. They need to be catered for too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Learn America's Other Great Language
I just couldn't stand it any longer. As Latino culture melds into the American mainstream, I felt that part of the American experience was passing me by. OK, once you have made the decision to learn Spanish, where do you begin? I didn't have time for evenings at a Community College. Rosa Martin's book was recommended to me. The lessons quickly focus on the practical (asking directions, going to stores, etc.). Confidence comes quickly with Martin's method. The dialogues are readily applicable to daily life. Importantly, this inspires the student to stay with the program, even when working alone. It's fun. There are no odd Castilian pronunciations or tedious verb-tense arcanery. It is just plain speech for the average Joe (Jose') and quickly assimilated. It reminds me of corporate or armed forces language schools. Martin's book is the best of it's type. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Saves lives
All I can say is that a prominent physician who does some of the greatest number of diagnostic workups for Prostate conditions had the courage to recommend Larry Clapps work in addition to the mainstream approaches as an alternative as he had seen so many benefit from it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Prostate Health in 90 Days
It will probably be a while before I'm sure how helpful the book will be.So far, though, I'm pleased with the information.
1-0 out of 5 stars Many Conclusions and Opinions- Little Evidence
Offers many unique and very unusual opinions, but unfortunately almost none are supported by direct references to a study, clinical trial, or scientific article. Statement after statement is presented as fact with no support. With so many strong conclusive statements presented, if the results are so clear, where are the studies, medical articles and comparative trails with supporting results!! Book cannot or doesn't provide. Appendix does provide general references/addresses/phone numbers of other "..Healers and Products". I do not recommend this book ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best guide I'd found
I've been trying to write my memoirs for years, have read all the books. But there was something about HEARING this good guidance, and listening to the examples of everything she said to do, that made it real for me. Thiswas the best aide I've found - and I found a lot of them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Took the dread out
I'd always wanted to write my family's history but couldn't get started....didn't know how. This took me step-by-step and showed me how to make it interesting.A terrific guide.

5-0 out of 5 stars ItWASeverything I needed to know!
Patrika:I read your book this morning, and it summed-up in 200 short pages what I had to garnish from probably 50 - 60 previously read books on writing and publishing. I enjoyed every page of it. What's more important,is that it answered several questions that I had about current trends inthe publishing industry.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Sound bites and highlights, but not much depth.
For somebody who was not alive in JFK's time, this seemed like a great way to get a feel for the politics and history of the 1960s.This approach, though, gives only a few minutes, five at most, of each speech and so thelistener gets a famous highlight, but no depth of experience.I am excitedabout the primary exposure, but much more content and length is necessaryfor this to be of much use to a serious fan of history or politics.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great promise but fails to deliver what the buyer expects
This volume was a disappointment because only portions of the various speeches are used. One would expect the complete speech including the classics (American University, Inaugural etc.) Still it is fascinating tohear one of the great modern orators making his case both domestically andinternationally. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Spiritual Magic
This audio book by John O'Donohue takes us on an inspirational, and for me an unforgetable journey, into the heart of who we are. O'Donohue's poetic style comes to life in this seminar and his voice reflects his passion andcommitment to sharing Celtic wisdom with us all. O'Donohue has the abilityto speak about our deep spiritual yearnings, using very simple language andsome beautiful anecdotal examples, that we all can relate too. What I likedmost about this book was the authors experience and examples of Prayer. Hisrelating of Prayer and its effect on the Invisible World, and on the peoplewe pray for, made this writer yearn to pray. Another aspect of this bookthat gives great hope is O'Donohue's explanation of the prisons in which weput ourselves, and how we might free ourselves and renew our lives.Whilemuch of what is said is also in Eternal Echoes, another though provokingbook from John O'Donahue. The beauty of 'The Invisible World' is the oraldelivery ~ 'Eternal Echoes', on the other hand, can be difficult fornon-academic readers to plough through (although I found it a great read). If you are looking for further motivation along your spiritual path, youwill not be disappointed with this audio book.Your journey toward yourdivine destiny will be enhanced a hundred fold. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Wisdom with Humor
I received this as a gift and have listened to it 3 times, and each time I find more gems of wisdom and compassion. Hanh is a very gentls soul who gives many tips and insights for the ups and downs of life's journey. Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Still Seeking Truth @ Sixty-four
I first became aware of Thich Nhat Hanh by virtue of his being nominated for a Nobel Prize by Martin Luther King, Jr., during the Vietnam War years.I had heard little of him since that time until a friend mentioned him as being particularly relevant in her practice of Buddhism, particularly meditation. After listening to this CD, I have to agree with her that his gentle, sometimes humorous delivery provides a wonderful relief from the preachiness that is found in many speakers on religion. In fact, he cuts right through the dogmatic b.s. of most religion and goes directly to the nurturing of one's spirituality.Anyone who is struggling to deal with the violence and chaos of the world would do well to listen to Thich Nhat Hanh.

5-0 out of 5 stars Illuminating And Entertaining
I have listened to many Dharma Talks (DT) from Thich Nhat Hanh and this one is one of my favourite. This DT is really fun to listen to. I have learned so much from Hanh's teachings and I am trying to practice and change myself for the benefit of my family.

5-0 out of 5 stars About Love and Self
With her rich and poetic voice, Dr. Estes presents, in a most unique fashion, the insight into relationship. Her use of poetry and indigenous folk tales somehow manage to define the kind of relationship I want and can have with my husband of 23 years.Key was her discussion of the life/death/life cycle as natural and something to be embraced, not feared.I have the tape on audio and listen to it almost daily, like a prayer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Resonating Soul Food
She has the most beautiful rich voice which starts a slow heart beat deep within the soul. She tells the most surprising, extraordinary stories that feed the Old Hungry Ones who have been begging for alms at the side of the road, deep within us. The story of Sketeton Woman is particularly poetic and vivid and it will sing to you long after you've first heard it. Her poetic renditions/reinterpretations of Sappho are luscious and will make your skin shiver with delight. This is a down-to-earth, deeply wise and delicious offering which I would recommend, in Estes words, "for men who love women, women who love women or anyone who has tasted the Feminine God and found her . . .".This is for anyone seeking soulful relationship with the world and others in it. It is something you never tire of listening to. ... Read more

I wish to say first of all that I am a great advocate of the superlearningtechniques, but I have to say that this audio is basically just the sameold stuff regurgitated using different examples! By all means, learn aboutthe technique and use it, but i would recommend the"Superlearning" book or the boxed set. This tape is enjoyable tolisten to, but it has virtually nothing new. In fact i can say that, havingread several books by te authors which are good, I have to say, I foundjust ONE piece of new and useful information on this cassette. The factthat I cannot recall it now while writing this review probably demonstratesthat it was nothing so life-changing after all! For newcomers, it does givean overview of the technique which could probably enable you to put it touse (which is why I rate it as a 3) but if you are superlearning initiatedalready, you have nothing to buy this tape for! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not for Novices
I really enjoyed listening to "Business Planning", but I'm in the middle of writing my third, so I am fairly versed in the subject. I say "but" because, as the Annapolis commuter pointed out, first-time business plan writers would find a print-copy of the book much more useful. But if you're like me, and you want help polishing your existing works, this is a great title.
2-0 out of 5 stars Not for everyone
I purchased this book expecting it to cater to someone beyond University level. However, the contents clearly cater for high school level learning and therefore provided little value to me. If you are looking to strengthen your technical and analytical skills look somewhere else. If you want basic training, give it a try.

4-0 out of 5 stars Better Than Some I've Read
I have to admit that I had never read any of Janet Evanovich's books until this one. Some of the reviews here were not as favorable as I would have expected. The reviewers were disappointed that nothing new had been revealed to them, wrt the mechanics of writing, but so what? I have many books at home dealing with that and can refer to them when needed. My interest in reading How I Write was just to get this particular author's view of the writing life. What motivated her to chose the mystery genre and how she came up with plots for her series of novels about Stephanie Plum. I wasn't at all disappointed in what I read and was actually inspired to get back to my own writing, particularly the advice Miss Evanovich gave to stop working and reworking the first chapter and to move on asap to chapter two. It helped to unstick myself and to move forward. Since finishing this book, I've begun reading the Stephanie Plum books. They are fast paced and quite humorous. I recommend How I Write to anyone who needs a chuckle and a little motivation.

4-0 out of 5 stars If You Like Evanovich, You'll Like This Book
I've been a fan of Janet Evanovich since her first Stephanie Plum novel. I like her breezy and humorous style, and it's in great evidence in How I Write.
1-0 out of 5 stars Mostly fluff

5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Comedy!
Bob Elliott and Ray Goulding were a pair of brilliant and all too little-known comedians who came out of the golden age of radio. Their comedy was quite simply an endless satire of radio broadcasting itself. Actually, "comedians" sounds two obvious for their deadpan, parodistic humor - I think perhaps "comic artists" is more approriate. Instead of telling jokes, this comedic duo performed little plays where humor is created through characterization, irony, and word-play. This is verbal wit and high comedy at its best. Bob and Ray were too subtle to ever become really popular, but they always had a small and devoted following. Their dry, offbeat humor is impossible to adequately describe - you have to experience it to understand it. This award-winning compilation comes from the twilight of their long career - the 1980's. These particular performances come from Bob and Ray's Public Radio Show, and were recorded in front of a live audience, which only adds to the fun. There are dozens of B & R sketches here, including numerous installments of their hilarious mock-soap opera, "Garish Summit". Many classic B & R characters make apperances. Buy these cassettes and be prepared to become delirious with laughter!

5-0 out of 5 stars "The Best of Bob & Ray" Is Simply the Best!
Bob and Ray's low-key humor is perfect for long drives. I have the four volumes of "The Best of Bob & Ray." Each volume has four audiocassettes, each audiocassette with two 30-minute shows that will keep you in stitches and make the miles fly. "Garish Summit" is without a doubt the greatest soap opera ever to make you laugh so hard your nose runs.Volume 1 will have you longing for Wing Po, Traveling Philosopher, to come by and read your woodpile. ... I got the tapes in hoping to improve my voice.Paul Newham has a wonderful voice and "bedside manner".I found his voice exercises extremely hard to follow. He could do things with his voice that I could never do.His exercises were also very long.He often demonstrated a technique and then told the listener to do it.We were left on our own as to what and how he actually did. It would have been much better if he were to demonstrate an easy technique and then slowly made it harder.he demonstrated a technique and then did a completely different technique. Also after he demonstrated, he should do it with the listener so we can follow along.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The bible of High technology management
Great book by great man. I would say the way Gates presented his thoughts by real-life examples is extra ordinary. I think great men like him should always write books like this.

2-0 out of 5 stars telling...
Gates has missed the cluetrain.Microsoft is still engaging in the us against them corporate mentality, and this book reveals why. He's so focussed on the boardroom mentality that he seems to have no clue what his CUSTOMERS want. It's all about how the internet can serve the company, rather than how the company can fill the needs of the community.

4-0 out of 5 stars Business according to Chairman Bill
Business @ the Speed of Thought provides a great overview of how companies need to adjust their internal business systems to survive, adapt and embrace new technologies. The book is written in a non-technical way which makes it ideal for non IT managers.I recommend it. ... Read more
